Brownlow night

Featured Replies

im not watching it as i couldnt care less about the brownlow, but is Paul Roos on the Melbourne table?

MFC has one more vote than Dusty.

But lets not go there...

Nice of Dane Swan to take time away from the set of Deliverance to make an appearance tonight.

J.Viney - 2 votes. :)

Damn. At least Swan didn't win.

And we like Gary.

Ablett is a little champ you could see he only wanted 2 votes so he could share it with selwood

I thought he was a little lucky tonight to be honest. Great player but I thought Selwood had a more influential season.

David Swallow, 1 vote.

Pick 2?

I was so happy for Viney to get 2 votes.

Congrats to ablett. Thankgod Swan didnt win. Im not sure who drank more, him or his gf.

By the way superstar moloney only got 2 votes. 1 was against us. Even Watts got more votes than him. Just saying

Melbourne polled less votes than GWS.And no [censored] PP.

Is 16 votes a record low?

I watched the vision. Did MFC even have a table at the event? Or were we on a table outside in an annex?

We were on table 85, I saw it when they went to Jones. By the way are we the only club tonight where the captain didnt poll 1 vote. And we had 2 of them.

We were on the kids table with GWS.

Jones finished with 6 I think, plus Davey got a couple, Viney a couple and Terlich 1 or 2 (?)

Meanwhile, with all the fuss on here about Moloney's stand-out performances at the Lions, I believe he got 2 votes (then again I might have missed others?) ... not to mention that the other wunderind Wines also got 2 votes (unless I missed some there as well) - same as his mate Viney.

Very happy to see Ablett win tonight.......

He is a wonderful player and obviously a very classy person.

As for the Dees, well an awful season gets the results it truly deserved.

So onwards and upwards for next season, hopefully!!!

This is why pp. Was anonuced before brownlow and not after people have short memeroys

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
