Peter Jackson is expecting around 37K. He's hopeful of more, but that's what we're on target to achieve.

I was at a function earlier in the week at the MCG. He considers it a "pathetic" total. He understands the reasons, but it's pathetic nonetheless.

This must be on the basis that the current tally is basically 13% higher than last year. If you add 13% onto last year's final total of 33,000 you end up at a tad over 37,000.

A win over the Saints Rd1 might bring a lot of the 12,000 back in who haven't renewed in the last two years. If that show of faith occurred who knows what might happen.

He'd be right on both counts I reckon. IMO we're bang on target for mid 37K. Higher would be a plus.

Win the first game and 40K is a big chance.

We should all get behind this. It is not good enough for our membership numbers to be half that of Hawthorn [who possibly has the closest demographic to us amongst the Melbourne Clubs]! Not only should all Demomlanders be seeking to recruit at least one additional member but those who have the time to donate should register with the MFC as volunteers for their membership drive.

The Hawks have won 9 flags since I was born they deserve to have the numbers they have and we deserve the numbers we have, that's what happens when you lose for 5 decades, but I do agree on trying to sign people up.

This is spot on, you lose generations of supporters. Through the 70's and early 80's the club would have lost a lot of supporters, more the kids of supporters choosing winning teams. We start to gain back some kids through late 80's, 90's and early 2000's but any kid under the age of 10 wouldn't remember our team winning on a consistent basis. It would be interesting to see how many MFC families have lost kids to Hawthorn. Not a hard choice for kids over the past 7 years, success or failure?

Well the Dees have won six since i was born, albeit a distant [50 year] memory since the last one. We will regain our rightful title as the Premier Club, starting this year!

No offence but that means nothing for the last 5 decades of demon supporters, though I'm glad you've seen 6 flags half your luck.

He did not say he had seen them mjt

I have seen two but to be honest the memories are now not great.

Half a century is sure a long time between drinks.

Doubt I will see no.13 but to see more wins than losses would be very nice over the next few years.

Signed up two members today. One new. One a renewal. Both sons of mates. Parents will find out within the week.

One mate a Crows supporter. The other follows Carlton. Hoping the kids will thank me one day.

I'm assembling a little under three's Demons supporter rat pack in this convict town.

As an aside, my boy's only 10 months old but he starting to show some really good development in two areas:

1. Growing teeth; and

2. Handballing the fluffy Demons mock AFL ball.

Early days I know, but I reckon he's got 300 in him.

Going to the Mountain View Hotel (Richmond) this Friday night with a couple of other Dees fans to watch the NAB Challenge on Foxtel. If we beat Geelong I am sure that they will rejoin!

Sorry, couldn't find any numbers for late Feb, but it will be interesting to see in a week how far we are ahead of that number...

I sense a slight spike in the last ten days. Around 200 more signed up than the ten days previous to that, so essentially 90 new members a day to 110 new members a day.

If that happened due to the Tigers game, imagine what a win against St Kilda in the real stuff will do...

That is a 700 boost in one week - better than it has been since the pre-Christmas roll on and it means we should head in to round one with 30,000. Not great but it sets us up for a high 30s outcome if we show some early style.

And that would set us up for 40,000 next year.

Our target should be 40K this year and 50K next year. Not impossible with decent on-field performances. Need to set stretch targets instead of aiming for 37K, stretch it to 40K this year so we can build on that foundation next year and aim for 50K which is the minimum of where we really need to be.

Does anyone think it would be a good idea to have membership sign up tents outside the ground after the games if we win? People may be more willing to sign up after a win and they may have also had a couple and be more likely to part with their money. I think it could be a decent idea especially outside the MCC Gate 2 at the G trying to convert non-members to become joint MCC/MFC or even GA MFC members.

We're not "aiming" for 37K, it's what we're "expecting".

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
