The Successor

He said burns is in the mix also said every club is peeved off about Roos trying to poach there coaches I say good, go nuts roosy

Good stuff thanks for that.

A young but knowledgeable assistant coach with a bit of fire in the belly and under Roos (sounds perfect)

We just need to shake of WCE - we can offer him a couple years under Roos where he can prepare himself to be coach and of course a bucket of cash.

Roos needs to do what's best for us, not anyone else. And that is what he is doing.

I've not felt this secure in the club for a long long time.

I love it, I long for the day when we are no longer pitied by opposition supporters but hated and they whinge about our current changes which saw to us becoming a force again

Dear Damien Barrett and 17 other clubs,

Suck on it.

Kind Regard,

I have spoken to a few people over here(WA) who believe Sumich will get the gig, however there is also some talk about not ruling out Meth Coast making a play for Clarkson, depending on how the Hawks season ends

IMO opinion I think we will end up with either Burns or Simpson as Roos understudy

How dare he!

Honestly, Matthews was working as a development coach and we offered him a promotion to line coach.

No mention of that, but DB mentions that he's getting paid significantly more.

What a [censored].

Brendan Lade, jarred Moore, Geoge Stone and Scott Burns all linked to melbourne and guys Roos is trying to poach.

Go Roosy and f#*k the haters!!

Adam Simpson ! Watch this space

I called into 'Sports talk' on 720 ABC here in Perth this morning as they had Tadgh Kennelly as a guest and I thought it would be a good opportunity to hear his opinion on Roosy joining the Dee's and also Matthews and Allison's credentials.

Summary was he doesn't think Roos will change the team dramatically enough to see it become successful in the near future. Basically reiterated what Roos said about laying the foundations for the incoming successor etc, Ben Matthews was a good honest footballer and will contribute as will Allison to the coaching efforts.

I then asked what lines they would coach and interestingly, Tadgh said that Mattews would be coaching the Backline but at what level he didn't say.. This throws up the question of what capacity Rawlings will work in next season? Might he be axed? Will he coach another line group or potentially will be in the running for the Successor position?

I had a few other questions to ask but the flogs cut me off because I wasn't talking about the Dockers. Or maybe it was because I was talking about the Dee's...

Ed: obvious other question I didn't have the opportunity to ask was going to be if he himself would be finding his way to the MFC.

Thanks for the insight McQueen

Those are very different positions on Rawlings - my view is if he is good at what he does then find a position for him. We can't start getting rid of staff that have been doing well and then risk dividing the staff like we did with the players under Neeld.

It will be kirk.

this will be announced after Fremantles finals campaign.

Kirk. Lock it in!!!

Interesting when others are basing their opposition to us getting a priority pick on us making sudden improvements under Roos like Port.

Viscous condiment?

I heard both Geoge Stone and Stuart Maxfield could be in demon colours as both are based in melbourne and i think Maxfield wants more time with his kids.

Cameron ling...my wife changes channel when he is on....because of his looks, I'm sure he is not the right man for the job.

So when the successor is announced who will be the first poster to go with the Roos_to_Simpson or Roos_to_Burns username that were all the rage on bigfooty for a while. I think Scully_to_Watts might be dead in the water. Aish_to_Hogan might still be a chance . . . .

That's Roos2Simpson - don't you know anything?

I hope Adam Simpson will be the next coach after Roos. His learnt under the in-form coach of the last 3 years in Al clarkson. Then will be under Roos for a minimum of two years. Couldn't be happier if announced.

Now wouldn't that be awesome :) !!!

Well let us hope that Captain Kirk displays some Enterprise when he makes the annual Star Trek to the AFL National Draft!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
