I have thought his year he looked like a smooth mover with good skills. He could develop into a very handy type.

It looked, please correct me if I'm wrong, that Brisbane tried using him as a rebounding defender?

We have players around the same mark that could excel with a bit more development. ie Strauss.

I wouldn't be against his acquisition though. Does he have the go in him to play through the guts?

Strauss looks half the player Docherty does in twice as long on an AFL list.

Second round pick might get it done.

Personally, I remain ever hopeful that one of these homesick kids - Docherty, Adams, etc - falls through to the PSD.

Yes, we need to utilise that option.

Does "delisted free agency" make the PSD redundant?

I'm not exactly sure how that works.

My impression is:

- if a club does not offer you a contract and deposits you >>> then you can be signed as a delisted free agent

- if the "delisting period" ends, you've been offered a contract, but declined to sign it >>> then you must enter the ND or head straight into the PSD, depending on which you nominate for.

Is this correct?

So a player can still make the decision to NOT go into the ND, but go straight for PSD?

I was under the impression you were automatically nominated for ND?

Or is that only if you go unsigned as a "delisted free agent"?

And I'm right in believing that a player cannot decline a contract offer and become a "delisted free agent" without his original club actually making the move of delisting him?

I think the player's club can force the player into the draft.

We should be chasing Docherty with a PSD bonus.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
