Reece Conca

Forget Martin, get in Conca's ear.

Still unsigned, Tiges will have little in their kitty after Martin, would be happy if we made Reece an offer that would lure him from Punt rd

Good player Conca but I think the hold up is about him wanting to go home. Maybe we would be a chance if we relocate to WA.

Am very confident he would sign, but Richmond are offering him a pittance compared to what he would be worth on the open market.

Money is the issue here, not home, and he isn't being greedy!

If that's the case then he is worth a crack. I rate Conca, hard at it and good basic skills with a lot of upside.

Hard to believe the Tiges would let him go.

Anyone out of contract is fair game, he is quality so offer him what he is worth, not sure what that would be exactly and see what he has to say, if he says no we're in the same position as we are now.

Tigers would hate to see him leave, but if they sign Martin, would only be able to afford to offer Conca half of what he is worth if my understanding of situation is right

Surprised it took this long for Conca's name to be floated. Hard at it. Reasonable skill level and would be a perfect fit for our midfield as he is 185cm tall and can take a good overhead mark. The only hesitance would be that he is susceptible to foot injuries..... 2012 broken toe, 2013 stress point (hot spot) of the foot.

His eyes are too close together, no thanks.

At least he hasn't got a piece of tape holding his nose up Django ;);)

High draft pick which matters little now.

But averaged just less than 20 touches over the last two seasons.

In the right age bracket.

Will continue improving and may get the chance to flourish in our midfield with more opportunities in comparison to the tiges.

And lets face it, we have to pay someone so it's a good chance to get him across

As I have said elsewhere we are into him! Offering I believe 1.8m for 4 years

Is he worth that or are we having to pay overs cause we are the MFC?

That would be a reasonably handy preseason draft acquisition.

Source please? Enough with the hearsay

I just want him cos i love saying his name......Conca..?..............Conca..?...........Conca....?

Exactly the type of player we should be targeting imo

Gee I'd love him on our list but that definitely seems too much. 450k a year is huge. We still need to have enough cap to target players such as Adams, Selwood and Swallow.

Would be only just over what his current market rate would be IMO. Over a 4 year contract, if he keeps steadily improving, reckon in two years we would be paying less than his market rate with that offer

We have plenty of cap space...

We have been frontloading because we have no-one to pay.

Would love this kid

Just turned 21, and if you take out the elimination final where he got 0 touches as he was injured early , he averaged around 20 disposals per game and kicked 12 goals in 16 games

Really hope we can land him

Well you're strike rate is beyond appalling so I'm just going to throw this gossip in the pile of horse [censored] basket.

Of course we'd be "into" Conca.

There wouldn't be a decent young midfielder we're not courting. Getting players over the line will be the hard part.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
