As it looks like Scott Selwood will be offered the captaincy at West Coast he's off the table. Surely we have a red hot crack at Dusty. This kid could be anything. Risky as it is when guys of this calibre are available, in the position we are in, put an offer to his management that will make him look twice. How much easier does it seem to bargain these days with a credible coach at the helm?

Do not want!

Talk to Richmond supporters. The guy shines for 50% of the game, goes missing the other 50%.

Not to mention his off-field tendencies which I know of through an ex Tiger.

Would be a horrendous pick up.

Martin is well and truly worth going after. We have to start putting the footy side of the club first, as PJ put it a short time ago which means putting Dusty's footy ability into perspective - he'll come into our side as our best midfielder, no doubt.

Money wise, we can comfortably afford to pay him 600K... I know for a fact there is a player on our list who barely cracks a game yet is making 300K a year - imagine how many of them there are? At least with Martin we'd be paying someone to play for the MFC and not the Casey Scorpions.

Roos pretty much said what we already know.. but he danced around the pointed question of "would you take him if he wanted to come"... in typical roos fashion he danced around it without answering it.

I think we are deeper into this than many think

Considering every major news outlet is saying that we are front-runners to land him, I would say a few people think we are into him.

That 50% is better than probably every single melbourne players' full game. Perhaps except Jones. Man, what a tandem they would be.

Not for me,

Bad manager screwed richmond with false offers last time now paying masive overs, father linked to bikie groups supposed ex bikie leader, hangs around connors STILL, has a full time mentor and hasnt got the petrol tickets to run a game out as every tigers fan knows.

Smart Richmond ppl dont want him nor will they pay massive overs.

for mine NO THANKS

He averaged 24 touches and a goal a game this year.. he does go missing at times but the guy's a ball magnet and match winner on his day.

Unfortunately I'm aware of his off-field tendencies too through local Bendigo/Castlemaine lads around his age.. which is enough to put me off.

Considering we offered Scully a massive amount, I'd much rather offer someone like Dusty that type of benjamin.

At least Martin already has the points on the board.

Dusty is a more dominant player than Cotchin and Lids.

When Jake King has blokes like Toby Mitchell hanging around Richmond, there is little wonder Dusty wants out.

The temptation is just too much.

Welcome to Demonland Dustbin.

I am sure Roos has factored in his social associations and his endurance and would not be considering him if he had not sought insurance/assurance to cover things. If we can acheive it and retain pick 2 [by not losing it in a trade] then we should consider. The only pick ahead of us is GWS and they have are likely to instead focus on key position players. We could be even cleverer and asking him to wait until the Pre-season draft so that we retain pick 2 in the National Draft.

So you are saying u don't want a player who gives 50% which is 45% more than most on our list currently?

Interesting.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
