Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

When Adam played full back for Jerusalem... where did the drafts come from ?? Just "arksking" lol

Just before he fell out of the Garden Adam asked God the original

I believe adam came through as a priority draft pick for the Jerusalem water wells

he never played at full back and was drafted as a forward, it was his junior year that he played in the backline and showed the right stuff that sent the water wells members into a state of frenzied devoutness and even got him on the leadership group for the following year. alas he career petered out after a olive oil enrichment scandal. you can read about this in the old isreali herald reports by mighail sheazan

Quite funny and clever... So OD is wrong .. Adam never played full back..Another unfounded rumour on DL...I am sure Mighail Sheazan is a Demon Supporter... lol

mystery Injury of the week

Sorry jr probably should have been miw

I am suggesting an injury can be concocted to save ego's

Have been in football since Adam played full back for Jerusalem.

Old Dee, surely you know that there are many Demonlanders who don't like revelling in the glory days. We have to talk about the future not dwell on our successful past.

McKenzie will come back in.

I don't particularly rate him, but how can you not bring in your number 1 tagger (coming off a 30 possession game at Casey) to take on G Ablett?

Howe should be dropped or played in a position where he can have more of an impact - wing or half back flank.

Is Magner eligble to play?

No to McKenzie. His papers are stamped as far I'm concerned.

time to bring in Josh Tynan for the last 4 games and get a good look at him

We have so many pea hearts in the senior team, its a joke that Tynan isnt playing as he will give 100% and go hard at every contest, he reminds me of Clint Bartram in that way.

Sure Bartram was no star but he bled for the jumper and we are sorely lacking those types

Bring in Tynan, please!!!

Just wondering on people's thought son Pederson. People say that he is lazy and doesn't hit the contest hard but over the last few games when he's played in defence he has been able to play the third man up and seems to be able to take marks in our defensive 50. I think he has a place in our team as a third tall defender who can help chop out Frawley and Mcdonalds forwards and also probably have to play on the resting ruckman in the forward line which most teams do these days? Garland is good but probably a bit short to play on the oppositions marking ruckman?

He is better than sellar and gillies but still not AFL standard imo

He is lazy and doesn't hit the contest hard enough

He's ok on a true resting ruckman but to be a 3rd tall you need versatility to play small at times and he doesn't have the speed for that

His skills are also up and down, you certainly couldn't say he's great by footy

All in all if he's got enough talent to be depth to come in to cover McDonald, Fralwey or Garland and to do a good job at it but unless he starts truly maximising his talent he'll be shoddy depth at best.

I don't mind him.

I think his 3 year contract is a joke, and he got of to an extremely shakey start this season in terms of his contested marks but he has improved.

You're spot on in the sense his could be a good defender on a forward ruckman and also leaves us with an option to double tag opposition key forwards. Ie, tag Pedersen and Tommy Mac/Terlich on Cloke.

Needs to improve though...

If we want to have any hope of improving as a club we need to get rid of all our spuds: Pederson, Gilles, Nicholson, Rodan etc. etc.

There are some that should probably go before Pederson but if there is enough talent to bring in we need to get rid of him. (If a club is willing to pick him up for say pick 88 could we trade him? - even though he is on a contract?).

And also is that 3 years after the end of this year or 2?

There's a stack of people on other forums quick to bag him and he was tried as a forward/ruckman by Neeld in the first few weeks and failed dismally, except in first game against GWS where he took a couple of marks.

But as a defender he is quite useful because he has a thumping kick like Dunny and whilst not as good in one-on-one contests as Tom Mc, Garland or Chipper, he's quite a strong mark.

He's well worth keeping on the list as a back-up to our star trio and potentially could play as a fourth tall defender against side's that go top-heavy or when Garland is used on a damaging lead-up small forward.

I suspect those that keep bagging him only saw his early games.

Anyone who saw his recent work, including his super goal against GWS, would say he has a bit of talent.

Rodan is there as a sub for Viney and for leadership. I don't mind that. I managed to sneak into the rooms early in the season, again for the Dees v. GCS, about an hour and a bit before the game and there were only three people in there: Viney practicing skills with Rodan (who wasnt playing) and MacKenzie stretching. Rodan cost us almost nothing to get and isnt taking up too much room on our list so I'm happy he is there and providing some good leadership.

You hit something important there - if there is enough talent to bring in. That's the whole crux of this issue when looking at players like Bail, Blease, Pedersen, Davey, Magner ect.

We don't want to fall in the trap of doing a Neeld fire sale.

Three years starting at the start of this season so 2 years to go now if I'm not mistaken.

Does his poor showings against Hawthorn, St Kilda, Coll and North count as his early games as well? He kicked a nice goal but at the same time it scares me that he got that far up the field from defense considering his apparent lack of work rate how long it would take him to get back to defense!

If he turns up to this next preseason looking like an athlete and not a park footballer then I might be more inclined to speak favorably of him. Teddy Richards at Essendon and even his first few years at Sydney was very poor and looked horribly undersized. At Sydney he built his body and confidence and eventually turned it around to be AA quality. We shouldn't give up on Pedersen considering we are stuck with him but I'd like to see him at least try his hardest.

Guessing Magner will be an in.

Melbourne has placed Mitch Clark on the long-term injury list and upgraded James Magner from the rookie list as his replacement.

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
