If you're happy with that first half effort then I bet you're lobbying hard for Neeld to be our coach next year.

You've found me out, stu. I'm getting the campaign rolling as we speak, starting with a facebook page.

Can I suggest a campaign slogan: "Relax, Neeld's got this".

People having a go at any of our forwards should suspend themselves from posting for at least the rest of the day. Essentially the whole game has been played in their half.

We should be more worried about the fact we have barely made any adjustments to our style despite the weather. Unbelievable.

Toumpas has played really well, this kid is having a real dip.

Best game for Jimmy.

I'd like to know the free kick count?

20-12

Only two less contested disposals, 17 less overall and 100 tackles.

All three of these areas we would be significantly behind opposition sides in the first half of the year. Need to clean up turnovers and improve our ball use around half forward going forward.

Trengove is not a captain and a very ordinary player since the sling tackle.

He is sitting third in our disposal count. Yeah he isn't Joel Selwood but he hasn't had a horrid day compared to everyone else out there.

Don't think you can read too much into stats today given the conditions and the efficiency of our opponents.

Been disappointed with Neil Craig today, very few adjustments, poor setup, no attack, and the effort in the first half was quite poor.

Especially when they don't back up your arguments.

You would see two VERY different games today if you were choosing between watching the game and watching the stats.

I said I'd be ok with a 10 goal loss. We just went over that.

We'd have lost by twice as much under Neeld.

This is the toughest game most teams play all year. That we have to do it in Geelong every year is a downright disgrace.

We fought, we lost, we move on.

I've seen worse. Much much worse.

It must be that everyone is watching the stats except you, eh Stu?

I really am tired of [censored] commentators mocking this club. Laughing at the stats.

Had the tele on mute since half time.

A tense last few minutes though.

I had a carton bet with a mate that we'd keep the Cats under 100 points.

Time to blow the froth off one.

If there's one person in the whole league that I cannot wait to see the back of, it's Johnson. Smug pr*ck.

He attacks the ball....he can be smug!

Selwood - 124 wins from 150 games.

Sylvia - 150 games...how many wins?

We officially hold the record for the least inside 50's ever. 19 we had today for the whole game. No wonder our forwards couldnt get it.

Anyway we lost to a formidable team and a team like geelong should thrash a team like us. At least it wasnt 100 points.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
