WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

AFL trade rumours has Lions announcing Roos today as coach. Either way he's not coming to us so let's move on.

They also said it was scheduled for 10am. However, Voss was speaking to the press at 12.

Doubt the lions are that pathetic to overshadow Vossys presser with more important news.

He was approached about 4 wks ago.

I told you all that weeks ago, I knew then he was not coming to the Dees.

Not that I blame him.

Who would you rather coach?

Had no idea it was that long ago.

I don't blame Roos for holding out. He is doing well for himself in the media and if I was him I'd rather go to Brisbane.

Me Too Pj

Just heard Jon Ralph on SEN say Roos told him at 8.30pm Last night that he Roos had not accepted the Lions job.

Claimed Roos told me they approached him weeks ago like the MFC and he gave them the same answer.

So you have got me

I give up.

ahhh Did I ever tell you guys about my youth and the many nights spent solving the universe's problems at the end of the pier along from the breakwater ?? Full esky of green tinnies... :)

NO ?? ahhh Apollo Bay :)

It would be a real shame - we are so close to 100 pages

Couldn't we just ramble on about nothing for a bit ........ oh wait

I have it on good authority Roos was spotted at the Bay Leaf cafe celebrating buying a house in Apollo Bay in anticipation of his move to Melbourne, Wet Coke and Brisbaaane.

I think Mrs Roos has spoken

game over

(thankgod, now we can someone who's actually interested )

ROO"S has released a statement this morning

my wife and I have walked to the end of the breakwater and we were disgusted in the amount of empty beer cans dumped in the ocean

my wife also commented that the weather was to cold for a woman of her distinction

we also thought the cappacinos were not up to our standard at the fig leaf café

and last but not least demonland needed 2 more pagesw to get this thread over the 100 mark

end statement

This clubs drowning, no President or coach, how are we meant to trade and delist, doesn't seem to be much happening behind the scenes at the moment , players aren't signing contracts and a club like Brisbane is on the ball, it's a [censored] joke and as a paid up member it would nice to now if something positive is happening, I'm more worried about who's going to step up and be president, I hope this PJ is on the ball because our club is miles off the pace.

Don't know if this has been covered already, but wasn't it stated earlier in this thread that we were talking to someone currently in the senior coaching position at another club... perhaps it was Voss? ;-)

My bet for this rumour would be Worsfold, who wouldn't be such a bad pick up although I think Choco would be a better candidate.

Rodney Eade 2yr contract with Adam Simpson as understudy ......-happy with that

Yes would be very happy, is that what you want or have heard.

Paul Roos is the only one who can sort this mentally shot list.

Bailey was to soft, although he had his hands tied by the admin.

Neeld completely obliterated what he gad.

Mclardy gave him "carte blanche"....

According to 360 on Fox last night, Roos is likely bound for Brisbane Lions.. I would rather put my money on that... May be the reason Voss is walking today... That's why he was "playing" with MFC....... just saying... :).

Thats is the Rumour just posted by 'AFL Trade Rumours 2013'

Looking at Eade's coaching stats:

Took the Swans to 5 Finals series in 7 Years including 1 GF (54% winning record)

Took the Dogs to 4 Finals series in 7 Years including 3 Prelims (55% winning record)

Imagine winning more games than we lose!!

I'm sure they said the same about Roos to us...

Apparently we're interviewing Eade this week (ahead of schedule), so the rumour mill might be jumping the gun a bit (imagine that!).

Well it must be behind Collingwoods back.

It would have to be, they wouldn't let him do it after the Neeld fiasco and announcing earlier this season that they wouldn't let anyone interview until the end of the season. It's fair enough too, if we were in the race for the finals I'd want all staff 100% focussed on our campaign.

Most impressive is that the Doggies were less resourced than even us and he was still able to make them one of the best teams in the comp

not to mention arguably the best team to watch , on their day they were breathtaking

Lets hope the pies get knocked out the finals quickly, if they make the GF it could cause major headaches for us.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
