David king was just on AFL360 and was concerned because of the price tag that Roos is going to come with.

He was concerned that other coaches who win the premiership will not want $900k but $1.00M plus.

King who gives a rats what coaches MIGHT want to get paid.

Could not care less think of something else to biutch about.

its more the case of who cares what KIng thinks ( an oxymoron there )

And what have we learnt from past experiences relating to coaches and being frugal? "You pay peanuts, and you get monkeys..."

That's an insult to monkeys c f!

Nope AFL got in first.

When PJ was contacted regarding the job of Interim CEO the AFL already told him that they sounded out Roos and would assist in any way to get him back coaching again. Andy D is a massive Roos fan and believed he was too good of a coach to be not in the game. Somehow the info was leaked to Tim Sheahan and we may never know how.

That's my understanding re: the AFL (or AD) as you put, putting together a pitch to Roos.

Despite AD's criticism of Roos and Sydney's grinding method prior to their 2005 Premiership.

where was all this concern when the bombers payed more for bomber Thompson than Hird.... Think bomber would be on about the same as Roos, if he come to us.....

Jeez the media are searching hard to find a negative here....

Interesting that is exactly the same feedback I was given by my friend on the board.............................. who I may add went very silent on Roos after being adamant we were going to get him in May or early June. Clearly the board and administration smartly kept their mouth shut. This may have been a test......... so to speak. Certainly the old board and admin would have leaked this all day everyday and the deal would have been lost. The point is that no body knew how close things had got, despite obvious and clear on-going communications between the club and Roos. Well done to the club (assuming no last minute fcuk up!).

I asked my "friend" who was going to be coach a month ago after Roos had sort of said no publically, and he told me they were still confident in getting Roos. I reported this here at the time but it seemed few believed. I had even lost confidence.

Thanks for the info grand new flag. Any news on Watts and Sylvia? Or talk on prematurely extending Hogan and or Frawley's contract?

You lost confidence in your own posts ? yikes !

Yes, honestly I was convinced by the media, general Melbourne inpetness, and lack of response from my friend on the borad and my friends in player management.

not much talk goes on at your joint

We were both working, but I did speak to her at lunch when organising finals tickets.

But yes, so much for bloody communication!

So another Messiah comes to save the day? You've got to be joking. The whole player group is terrible. Jesus Christ could not coach them to a grand final

You gotta start somewhere, D31....

The new coach (Roos, fingers crossed) will have a good nucleus to work with.

Why don't you turn up to the bluey and tell them how good they are D31, you can even take your keyboard if it will make you feel tougher :)

Me too mate! I had lost hope on that bet a few weeks ago!

I think the 40 odd players would have some thoughts on your highly insightful comments.

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
