Who ever signed that joker Cuddles to a 2yr deal when the guy was in the position that he was should be [censored] ashamed of themselves, us supporters should be very thankful to the AFL for wanting to help us after some of the moves that our former CEO pulled.

there is a rumour one supporter won't be renewing their membership in 2014 - me ha ha! This club is gutless and panders to media and soft [censored] supporters. No balls.

The club is definitely not being gutless at the moment.

Paying out some of CC's contract is presumably unavoidable.

Seems to me that PJ is not mucking around at the moment - and that he's obtaining AFL endorsement for all of his tough guy moves at the moment. Can't be a bad thing ...

Damn people aren't that stupid are they???

He was signed for two years because he took the bullet for Melbourne as the whole admin tanked but only one person was suspended... It was a thanks for taking one for the team

But with the same admin gone the afl was happy to pay out cuddles contract as part of the hand out as they know they tanked but couldn't prove it this just got him out of the industry...

Although cuddles was in a commercial role not a football role which he hasnt been for two years... Saying this I seriously wonder about some of the contracts for ex players in admin commercial roles as I doubt there payment equals there commercial experience

I'm no legal eagle, but why would we have to pay him out?? We would surely have a strong case against him for misconduct?? If I said something stupid in a meeting that ended up costing my employer 500k (and you're dreaming if you think that's the only thing he did) I'm pretty sure I'd be shown the door without having my contract honoured. As a matter of fact my employer has a code of conduct that spells out to me what's acceptable and not, surely the MFC have something similar. Surely??

And for the last time, his contract has not been recently extended. He signed a three year contract last year, before the #tanquiry was wound up. Schwab was once again protecting his great mate, Connolly can see which way the wind is blowing now PJ is in charge.

I knew when I heard he'd signed that 2 year contract it was purely a pay out for him taking the tanking fall. Also had a feeling that might not be coming back to the club anyway. God I go back to that year and I remember thinking, "just take the priority pick out of contention, then there is no temptation and we can get on with playing footy". That direction we took is the reason we are where we are. Sickens me that somehow Carlton managed to avoid that karma.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

The Demons head back to Melbourne after an embarrassing loss to the Dockers to take on the Magpies at the MCG on Kings Birthday. With a calf injury to Lachie Hunter and Jacob van Rooyen possibly returning from injury who comes in and who goes out?
