Beamer shows a bit of class....

No. It doesn't.

Footballers aren't recruited for their brain power. Some are astute and some are like Moloney. It vindicates nothing. You could argue his form vindicated the decision, but not this minor episode.

I believe you're being pedantic, Ben. I will rephrase. It vindicates Neeld's decision to axe him from the leadership group. He is clearly not leadership material.

I couldn't be bothered mounting an argument for his trading again. That's been done to death, as I guess has his lack of leadership.

I wasn't being pedantic at all. You said it vindicated Nerd's "list management" decision, which clearly insinuates getting rid of him.

Rather than calling me pedantic perhaps type what you mean.

Moloney would have been a better captain than trengove and grimes.

Grimes has stated he wasn't ready, trengove is still a kid and moloney had just won our Bluey and could mix it with the leagues toughest.

And yet, he was apparently trying to get to Essendon having just won the Bluey.

Leadership in spades.

Well said Robbo.

Mix it with the best in the league. You a kidding arent you. He went missing most times when we needed him. I agree that Grimes and Trenners shouldnt be captain but neither should Maloney. Jones should be captain

Disgraceful. Glad he's not at the club anymore. Rejoicing in other people's downfall in this manner is childish and shows why he'll never be what he wants to be - well respected by the industry.

Took the words right out of my mouth! Do your research tonatopia FFS!

moloney was the biggest [censored] at the club - he bitched because nobody thought he was much of leader - perhaps nobody liked him.

I was glad when Moloney left.

He didn't buy neelds way. He was iced for being a stick in the mud. Neelds way didn't work.

Someone with some class would keep his mouth shut. He stopped being a good servant and wiped out any credits when he took the easy way out instead of manning up and working a bit harder.

& this is what Neeld risked his career on, stopping this cheap & one way football being played at this club... by some very highly rated players recently gone last year...

at least he got one off season in, to off load the free loaders, before the club culture got him....

In years to come, this club will see this time as a mile post, but the problem will be, the Real work again, will not be recognised,,, & if Not, the club again will not have learnt.

Neelds cleanout, will help to set us up going forward..

# read down this article, IMO it shows some highly interesting issues with the club he took on,,,, & some of the issues that needed rooting out...

& the list pruning that followed...

# THIS,,,, is why no ONE from the past 15 Years should be ReHired, who once worked in this environment... we do not want any of the Old Culture, to be reinstated via Old Hands returning.

186 Brent. A day i shall not forget. The day you coughed all over your team mates & had zero touches.

What a leader. You left Bailey out to fry.

Yep.............just yep.

Coach killer Brent Moloney........if he only put as much effort into his football, than his vitriol, he would have been a pretty good player.

Yep, best and fairest winner in Baileys last year, what a loser. Real hung Bailey out to dry.

Give it up mate, the guy you are defending has already proven your own argument wrong but you seem to not have noticed...

Does anyone really miss Brent. Neelds only mistake this year was not playing young kids - the younger players were more committed than Bailey's recruits.

Moloney's record speaks for itself.

He is just the scapegoat of a bunch of demonlanders because you can't handle a raw brute.

I bet the people that don't like Beamer were bullied at school. now their bitterness and vindictiveness is rising by supporting the new headmaster (nerd) to spank the playground bully.

It's not beamers fault that you were pansies.

pfft did you know David Teague once won a best and fairest for Carlton? He was part of the group that cancelled the time trials under bailey because it was too hot! FFS get a grip tonatopia that 186 game was the most disgraceful what Moloney did, and he was part of that toxic culture that's imbedded into the Melbourne Footy club. Should not ever be allowed at the footy club ever again! I Never saw James Mcdonald pot shot Bailey when he got given the ass! and that's why he captained our club and is regarded as a champion in the eyes of the Melbourne Football Club. Schwab and Moloney can go dig themselves a 6 foot hole for all I care

Damn Brent had a bad year last year but he was a good player... He would be automatic top 18 at our club especially how bad out midfield is

Neeld was the worst afl coach ever who total stuff the club and has a playing list not playing for him

Brent had every right to give him a backhander after how he was treated by neeld... You are a crap footballer who is no good and everything you have done for the last ten years means nothing (a few other players would want to say te same thing)

How's the weather up there in Brisbane by the way?

Jeez you are becoming less and less coherent.

Moloney's record of immaturity? How can someone expect to lead an AFL side when they do things like this? Or crack it when they are told to work harder?

I liked his passion for the club but he really doesn't think about the impact or consequences of his actions. Maybe he could have captained the side if he was a bit more diplomatic, took on what Neeld said and tried to work with him but now Brent won't captain [censored].

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
