Casey update

As most of you would be aware, the VFL has a bye this weekend as there is a State match on against the WAFL in Northam, WA.

The Scorpions will be represented by only one player, skipper Evan Panozza.

Captain of the WA team is Paul Johnson and I guess we'll know if the WAFL team is serious or not if they line him up at full back.

Former Demon Matthew Bate was in the squad but missed the final cut.

Casey sits in second place on the ladder and when play resumes next week, it will play a home match against Box Hill in an ABC televised game.

They are basically a brand new team after Essendon severed ties to start their own VFL team. I heard their coach, Aussie Jones interviewed and he said because of their location some players can't even make it to training.

I can't understand the VFL......Why have a full bye 4 weeks into a season......If they want to be a feeder comp to the AFL they should follow the afl fixture to some extent.....Otherwise clubs will have their own reserves side and have their own comp.....which will destroy the VFL comp...
