I know Melbourne is currently a basket case, but I hope no one else was forced to endure the barely concealed glee with which Swine Russell and to a lesser extent, traitor Healy, proposed a call-in topic about how no young draftee would ever want to go to Melbourne, and how it would be interesting if you could pick your own club.

Ironic really, but I think Wines would've been one.

I think he hates us the most too. King, Russell and maybe Shaw never have anything good to say even if something good does happen.

A friend of mine is a GFC supporter and he said he finds Kings opinion to be irrelevant simply because he tipped against geelong every game of the year... in what turned out to be their premiership year. Even tipped Collingwood against them in the Grand Final.

Remember the Geelong thing. Wrote them off completely 8 or so games out. Think he might have even said they wouldn't finish top 4 or something like that. I'd never really listened to him before then, but I do now. Good laughs are hard to find in the AFL these days.

I know we as a club are bad over the last 5 years but the vitriol by some in the media is offensive. I know it is hard for the club to defend itself with all that has happened but it seems no past players nor current administration want to publicly stand up for the club.

We present ourselves as a weak club and the haters will continue with the big stick until we present as a strong club who do not take crap from anyone. I have no idea who has the balls to turn this around.

While leadership shows no passion as they have been doing, this will continue. Could you imagine anyone talking about Eddie's boys the way they do about ours? He would give them a serve or five if they did. I hope things change 'at the top' and someone comes out with their bat swinging for Melbourne. Until we do, we will continue to be a target for lazy commentators who can't think up anything decent to talk about.
