GAMEDAY - ROUND 5

Featured Replies

I'm at the game and it feels like the Lions have 2 extra guys on the field. Grimes, Gawn, Garland, Sylvia are working their back sides off but it's just not our day. God we miss Rivers and another inside mid like Molony. For Tim Harrington to say that Tommy mac will fill Rivers role was premature and ridiculous. This is obviously the first game I have been to this year, but gee wizz we have been sold some lies over the years.

Sam Mayes is killing us. Seems every top 10 pick last year is doing well bar Toumpas

You and your multiple personas on this website can take your player bashing elsewhere.

Demonland has become a hateful place of late. So many people complain about our clubs lack of culture and don't realise that by aggressively attacking players you are a part of the destructive culture that is destroying our club.

Take a look at yourself and behave as your father and his father was expected to, before you could hide behind some piddly little avatar on the Internet.

Watts 2 goals.

Watts haters gone quiet....

Wrong again Stuie - you're struggling here, aren't you - lots of posts praising him

Pederson is such a dud

Alright.... Time to settle in for a 12 goal last quarter.

God I hope it's us kicking the 12.

Wrong again Stuie - you're struggling here, aren't you - lots of posts praising him

Lots of red faces, including yours.

PEDERSON,!!!

GET HIM OFFFFFF!!!

It was a great hand ball from Sylvia wasn't it!!!!

almost makes you wonder how good Watts would be by now if he was never moved to defense and was allowed to develop in his natural forward position

Another huge fail by Neeld

Brisbane have had 210 uncontested possessions to our 134.

Neeld can take his zone and rack off.

Lets hope today was his last day as a defender.

Lots of red faces, including yours.

"And watts is a beautiful kick - and must play forward"

"Good mark, Watts... so he has to stay up forward"

thought I'd save you the trouble, Stuie - this is obviously a bit beyond you.

Lets hope today was his last day as a defender.

When Hogan, Dawes and Clark are in the lineup, Watts will not be playing as a forward. At least not for Melbourne.

One big effort this quarter, win lose or draw just want to see some heart and fight

Watts looks good up forward.

nah, Rodan should not be outr leading forward that should be watts.

we've got our backhalf a little bit more functional & we;re getting some more drive, but breaking down going into the half forwardline....

Switch Howe & watts...@ the break...

Watts to the wing & howe to CHF...

pederson deep...

I suppose it's what 6 years (possibly 7) being at or near the bottom of the ladder does.

My only complaints are the defennsive zone doesn't work well and the what appears to be half-hearted chasing. Maybe our blokes are just slow.

After the fact and you know it.

Don try to rewrite history.

For crying out loud, I wouldn't want to be in a foxhole with some of the blokes on here.

Neeld can take his zone and rack off.

That's a disgusting stat against this side.

We. Don't. Work. Hard. Enough.

Not one player, but almost the entire team. It's very hard to believe that the coach and game plan has nothing to do with it.

I don't reckon there's many Port fans arguing that Primus was just a Preseason away from them being 5-0, but I can't wait for another week of it here on D'Land.

It's not destructive change if your destroying something that doesn't work. It's logical and how the rest of the world works.

Should have gone for goal.

Either goal for goal or put it at the top of the square.. It was a stupid decision from a senior player.

Just heard Tim Watson say Melbourne are not putting in 100 % and thats exactly how it looks they look defeated before they start

Grimes attempted tackle was pathetic

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
