Late starter! I wonder how many nominations he will get this year.

One of his best.

How he got up so high running backwards is against all logic.

Best high mark he has done.

Running backward and still knew when to jump to get on top of the bloke running toward the footy.

Just great.

Injuries permitting, another six for me.

Put him one out in the goal square, and Mitch at CHF , a couple of crumbers at their feet.

Everybody else to help out in the midfield, and Back six as they are.

It's too predictable if we just leave him in the forward line. The Dale Thomas type role suits him, and gives each quarter of the MCG crowd a chance to witness his art in front of them.

They shouldn't have paid the mark though, if you look closely, no human should be able to do what he did.

Hope Howey has a big garage at home .

By the time he has finished his career he will have a fleet .

yep, best mark i have ever seen live. Embley would have been away if he had got the ball too, thought Howey might have tried to spoil but then BAM!

I remember going to the footy during the dirty days of the late 70's/early 80's when you would know a flogging was coming but looking forward to the beauty, grace and skill of one R Flower made it all worthwhile.

Howe may put himself into that sort of category. " We got a flogging but Howe took a screamer!"

I think it was lynch on after the bounce said if yo were walking to the MCG and got the late mail that Howe was out you would turn around and go home.

He is nearly right.

Sometimes when you know a flogging is imminent it doubles the pleasure.

I too thought the best Jeremy could do was to spoil but we know what happened! Landed awkwardly and I hope he doesn't do himself any damage in the future. Knowing our luck .........................After all this is the MFC.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
