Featured Replies

Cheers guys. Is it worth posting another thread to create awareness with regards to what happening on friday?

Yep, perhaps with a more specific title eg rally round the boys at treaining on Friday morning. Or something, I can't make it Friday - have meeting i can't shift but will wear red and blue in solidarity.

Top work.

Wizza... explore every option!

I just popped out to enjoy my birthday dinner with the family.

Reckon you could chuck a post up?

Just posted this over at 'ology

"If anyone knows of ways to advertise this 'event' widely, now is the time to tap into your resources. It is about gathering around our boys in a show of solidarity. It is about support. It is a symbolic gesture intended to communicate that we will see this through together. "

I believe an achievable outcome is 150 - 200 supporters... but, just for a moment let me dream... What if 1000 supporters turned up? Wouldn't that create unprecedented publicity and make the football world sit up and realise that the MFC is alive and well and able to deal with it's problems and move onward and upward? 1000 supporters at training on a Friday morning... what would that mean to the playing group? How would that galvanise the group? Are there any other dreamers out there?

All being well I will have a look, however I am expecting as many media as Dees supporters.

Not decrying the effort guys just think the blood suckers will be there in force

old dee, that's further motivation to rally. How surprised will the blood suckers be as they realise a new story is developing

I'm over Caroline Wilson, Jake Niall, Mark Robinson, Jon Ralph, Jay Clark, Neil Mithchell et al... writing the MFC story. It is time we took control of the MFC story.

i barrack for a team called Southampton in English Premier League..

Matt Le Tissier - the Robbie Flower of Southampton!

I think it imperitive that we get former greats along to training this week as well. I'd like to start with the three that appear on my avatar. Just need to know when and where and I will make it my business to invite them.

my daughter and l will try to get there, l was really angry at the start of the week but have realised the club just needs support and not being put down. ( this means YOU all Jack Watts haters)

Well done Wizza and the rest of you. Sorry I have to work that day but I do appreciate your spirit!

Love the work on this tread...

Would love to come but work won't allow!!!

Keep up the good work lads

I fly in at 11.30ish, training will be over?

Same here... might pull a sickie though

I'll try to get work off - it's an 1 1/2 hour trip for me to come down, but i'll do what I can.

i wish i could go but i cant get out of work

This is a considerable option for myself

I will be there with another MFC member on Friday. Any suggestions on where I could park

Great work having training mentioned on Neil Mitchell's show. Any chance we could have the same thing happen on SEN? KB's show?

Go Dees...

Love the feedback... special mention to those prepared to take time off work. I usually park under the Swan St Railway Bridge (2 hour limit) and walk a few hundred yards to the ovals. This area fills in by about 9:30am. If tomorrow is busy, might have to park further East along Swan St and catch tram.

I'll try and make it, parking is a problem. But worth the effort.

We should all wear some identifying feature. Todd Viney bandana?

Let's swell the numbers... Bring your kids, it's still school holidays. Hell, bring the whole school! I rang my sister and she's coming in before work. It's also a good idea to contact other friends who barrack for the Dees. Most people will make the effort if a friend asks directly. Don't leave it to chance... make the call!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
