We are financially stable, have a strong membership base. Merely playing poorly is not a reason for the AFL to step in and administer the club.

Financial stability is not what this game is about. Strong membership base has quite likely had its foundations blown out. And to bring my footnote in is insulting really, as that is about the great man himself, who would be turning in his grave, god rest his soul, over what is happening to his beloved MFC. The AFL will definitely have some conversations with the MFC this week. This was a free-to-air, 50,000+ attendance, Saturday night game, and played like we are not VFL standard.

But the club is not the problem. We have new training facilities, no debt, new sponsors etc... This is a player / coach thing. Something is seriously wrong in the dressing room.

Think of what you're saying here - the issue is clearly winning, the AFL do not need to step into administer a club if the club is struggling to win. What could they do about it? Introduce a handy cap?
