Dropping rodan is a mistake, trengove is slow and underdone, jetta should have come in IMO

Not Gilles again..... i have to buy a new jersey because of this bloke. Gilles + Sellar must of been warned to perform or you're out.

Pederson doesn't deserve another run

Dunn should of been dropped even if 100% fit

INS;

I am really hoping Davey shows something for us, Good to See Trenners back, Mcdonald should help us out immensely !

Dear lord. BOTH Sellar and Gillies are still in

Because we can easily replace them with, um ....???

We will ALWAYS have at least one of Pedersen or Sellar as backup and pinch-hitters. Unless Fitzpatrick suddenly finds his feet ...

Gillies has to stay as well, especially with Dunn out. Essendon have tall forwards.

it's comforting to know that after a performance that was completely cowardly, inept and lazy we have welcomed back Aaron Davey. That should fix everything ^_^ Gillies is the worst player to wear red and blue in a long time and that is saying something. Pederson auto-dropped for disgracing the club. Dawes still nowhere to be seen, Rodan dropped. Byrnes hardly sighted last week. Great job on the recruiting Neeldy.

No obvious sub out of those 4. I wonder if Davey could be a sub or would it be a waste if he just sits in the pocket.

I think Davey would make a good high forward - one that can apply pressure on opposition defense and then push up to the center for when we break out of our defensive 50m. We could then utilize his skills (delivery into forward 50m) without using him as a midfielder which he does not have the aggression for.

Dawes may very well make you eat your words come the middle of the season and as for Byrnes I thought he was alright - it's not exactly like he had a whole lot of inside 50's to work with.

well it's comforting to know that after 4 days people have calmed down enough to resume lying to themselves

I sit behind the goals every week and see the defenders up close. I did not think that Gillies was the worst, in fact Colin Garland and Daniel Nicholson looked worse in that game to me.

You don't drop a young top draft pick like Toumpas when he had NO senior players leading the way. Sheer lunacy to do that and ruin any confidence he still has remaining. He's the bloody future.

Can't believe that Nicholson is still in. The guy hears footsteps as badly as anyone I've seen.

IN: Run, Spread, Discipline, Desperation, Aggression, Confidence, Grand Old Flag, Jack and Jimmy celebrating their first win

OUT: Caveman look-a-likes, training cone impersonations, half efforts, Demonland hysteria

McDonald is a great inclusion. Also happy to see Terlich dubut and it will be interesting to see how Trengove goes with a limited Prep. Davey as the sub would be my guess. I'm surprised to see him back. I think Jetta has been stiff two weeks in a row now. If Watts could take a bigger body we could drop Gillies and bring in Jetta and the team looks far more balanced. I would have actually kept Pedersen and dropped Gillies and played Sellar back but that's just me. And I don't think we should forget how huge the appearance of Clark's name in the team is. What odds when he was being carried from the ground 4 days ago? His health is very very important.

Trengrove did not do overly well in the VFL practice game on the weekend, so why bring him in, an act of desperation perhaps? Would rather see Rodan in than an unfit Trengrove. Nicholson, is very lucky to still be there, would have thought Jetta should have pushed him out. Gillies again lucky, probably no backup tall to tackle Essendon's tall forwards. Will be interesting to see how Neeld's strategy goes this week.

Reckon there might be question marks over 14 of the 22 in relation to one (or all of) form, fitness and ability

Surely jetta would be of more use than Nicholson!

Not sure what Davey can give compared to kent and would have both as subs anyway.

Gillies is a joke, why not give watts an opponent or Troy Davis a chance.

And the other option is pedersen is a better forward than sellar, why not leave pedersen in and move sellar to chb.

I think the team balance is better this week. But the 22 it's not of superior quality. I would of stuck with Rodan, he's got a big body and takes the game on.

I'm disappointed not to see Jetta or Strauss but Nicholson is retained.

Honestly there are no big tough calls, which could work for those trying to redeem themselves but is also letting some off too easy.

If we serve the same slop this week, I would want to see big names dropped, not just shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.

Thank god we get some quality back with Trenners and McDonald.

Glad Tapscott is out, this guy is looking like another NQR at this stage.

Would have liked Jetta in.

Sellar very lucky.

Overall: OUT - Titanic's deck chairs IN: Different deck chairs

I am with everybody else here: why Nicholson over Jetta? It does not make sense!

What's the matchups for gillies anyway. He either gets crameri or Ryder/bellchambers. Crameri will torch him with endurance whilst the other two will be way too good one on one.

While I wouldn't have Nicholson play I suspect what will happen is that Terlich will play in defence and Nicholson will play up the ground. They'll use his run and speed like they did in NAB 4 against the Saints.

I agree. We are playing a tall too many again in our back 6.

I agree. We are playing a tall too many again in our back 6.

I thought we were playing too many talls in the forward line. There were a few centre bounces where we had Clark, Sellar and Pederson in the forward 50, with no crumbers.

I thought this was a rather large structural flaw for the whole game. We had nine marks inside 50, which isn't terrible (considering the supply) but the ball was travelling down the other end rather quickly. Additionally, many (most?) kicks out of the backline went to packs, where we do ok in the air, but horribly once the ball hits the deck.

There was no way they would drop the 4 new NQR recruits, it would have been an admission that they've stuffed up again.

Hopefully Gillies and Byrne will quietly be omitted next week.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
