Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The "CEO" deserves a thread all of his own. Has anyone presided over a less successful on-field club over the past 25 years? Are his off-field exploits anything to write home about? What has he achieved other than convincing gullible supporters to throw their hard-earned down the gurgler on false dawns and flimsy fantasies scribbled down on a restaurant napkin?

Your text message from the supporters has arrived, Cam ...

"There are no shortcuts to success.

Please kindly remove yourself from the club.

We've had enough.

Goodbye".

Christ, I've had enough of you clogging up the forum with rubbish threads of no substance.

Jens, all you seem to do is be critical of other posters. Just an observation. You're like a poor man's Ben Hur.

Any chance of contributing something to the topic?

If the Club was $10M in debt, we had no sponsors, we didn't make a profit last year, the spending on the footy dept had decreased for the last five years, etc etc then I would look at getting rid of the CEO, he didn't play on Sunday as far as I can recall.......if you are looking for scapegoats look at the players

We are tearing ourselves apart aren't we?

A few on here seeking blood - you are overreaching.

We will deal with the board and CEO at the end of the season.

You don't want to follow a Mickey Mouse club?

Stop forwarding cartoonish descriptions of the Demons currently working at the club, and stop trying to elicit a Mickey Mouse response from the club after 1 f___ing round.

If this sh!t keeps up we can deal with it at the end of the year.

To be honest I have no opinion either way as I don't know enough about the fellow in terms of the expectations on him and his performance.

However, one thing that I've noticed is that he appears to be 'remarkably' resilient.

From what we know, it appears that his head was on the chopping block the week before the Geelong game two years ago, yet not only did he survive (goodbye and thanks Mr Bailey), but he somehow managed a contract extension as well.

During the tanking investigation, the leaks coming from AFL house suggested that Bailey, Connolly and Schwab were in the gun, yet again the CEO came out the other side unscathed, while the other two weren't so lucky.

I know these incidents are not as clear-cut as I've described in actuality (186, Caro's personal vendetta), but it does get one thinking.

What is it about his presiding over club that has not finished higher than 13th since 2006, winning just 32 of 133 games, that makes it so hard to form an opinion about him?

Perhaps because those stats you have reeled off are misleading and unfair.

Especially considering he was not there in 2007 and 2008...

Why are you hell bent on tearing up this club after 1 round?

I don't se it the way you do, Rpfc.

The club is already torn apart. It's already Mickey Mouse. A basket case.

The horse has bolted and the fans want those who responsible for it held to account.

The pressure will continue to mount with each passing flogging.

This is his 4th tenure as a CEO. The other three he left in questionable circumstances including his first stint with us where he was involved in our salary cap scandal which included secret over payments to Gary Lyon and left in disgrace. That cost us big money and draft picks that set our development back significantly in the early 2000's and never recovered. He is still a hated man at Richmond and Fremantle. Under his stewardship the clubs he represented have only made the finals once in more than 15 seasons.

Where was this animous last week, last month?

You were a staunch Neeld backer up until The Debacle © and now you are off and leading the mob you were against not a few weeks ago.

We wait to see how the players react and how they attempt to wrest back some respect and we make our important decisions without the drunk feeling of rage that is fueling Demonland right now.

We do our blood spilling in October.

I had epiphany at about 20 minutes in to the third quarter on Saturday. We've been duped.

The scoreboard does not lie.

You are joking are you. The rage has been building up without pause since 186. Now we have yet another result that plumbs new depths of mediocority and you say lets wait to see how the players react. The supporters have been exceedingly patient.

I'm tearing up the club? That's laughable.

You're not doing it, but you want to see it happen.

And you're enjoying whipping some of the more feeble minded into a frenzy.

You revel in watching this club burn.

We've seen it many times before with different controversies.

Don't you ever get sick of the sound of your own voice..?

What happens if we lose to GWS by 60 points rpfc? Hypothetical question. Do we still wait until October?

What if we lose by 187 on Sunday.

IMO it is possible

13th or lower since 2006. 101 losses, 32 wins.

If you can't whip yourself into a frenzy after that you deserve to die as a club. Simple as that.

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the
