Help Find Imogen's Guernsey

I normally don't post articles from the official site verbatim but I thought that this was a special case:

from http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-03-01/help-find-imogens-guernsey

YOUNG Demon supporter, Imogen had spent the majority of her childhood ensuring her guernsey was covered in the signatures of every Melbourne player that she came in to contact with.

After years of hard work, Imogens size 10 guersney with #4 on the back and old sponsors was unfortunately mistaken for someone elses at the Webjet signing station at Family Day.

Imogen is currently in possession of someone elses guernsey that also had #4 on the back but is a size 12 with the current Opel and Webjet sponsor logos. As any Melbourne supporter can relate, Imogens guernsey full of signatures is very precious to her and shes desperate to get it back.

The Club is calling on all members and supporters who attended Family Day to help reunite Imogen with her guernsey.

If you can help find Imogens original guernsey, please e-mail [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> or call (03) 9652 1111 - See more at: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-03-01/help-find-imogens-guernsey#sthash.Oj7xIdnf.dpuf

Imogen no possessions?

I wonder if you can.

lol Biff,

But seriously, hopefully this can be sorted out. If not she should get a new one with #5 and be happier!!!! :P

If it can't be found I vote the club gives her a brand new one with the entire list signed and throw in a couple of legends like Gary and Ox, and present it to her on the ground round 1.

Maybe call the club and strongly suggest it, even if she does find it :) . great PR for all.

Maybe as many as possible tweet @MelbourneFC with Pates' suggestion?

I just tweeted with a link to Pates' post... would be nice to start the season with a feel good story.

Lets hope doing 'the right thing' is seen to be done, & someone reads this thread & sees to it...

Good luck Imogen.

Just did that then, not a huge Twitter person but I reckon it could be good PR.

Oh yeah because the club hasn't done enough already.

What about all the other kids who didn't lose their jumper, what do they get?

What about them?

Would be happy for the club to replace it if it isn't given back.

You think we have passionate young Dees fans coming out of our arses?

Years ago Ricky P took my missus jumper after a game for Robbo to sign. He said he would get it back to us and nothing. Tried to contact the club but couldn't get anywhere.

How is it that selfishness has penetrated our great land, & our great egalitarian culture?

Maybe the person organising the signing of the jumpers, gave the wrong jumper back to the wrong people.

I received a response from MFC who tweeted to me the following:

"we've offered to replace Imogen's guernsey with all her signatures but she'd prefer to get her original back if possible."

Yeah I saw that after I tweeted to them, no doubt it's just not the same. It's your top and you get attached to the effort gone into getting the signatures. Good on the club for already offering, would make the kid feel cared about.

Master you've clearly got to learn what good PR is, if you treat fans (particularly young ones) badly at best they will stick with you. You go the extra mile and they go around talking up the club and encourage others to join them.

I am just impressed that we have a "YOUNG" Demon supporter. I am glad to see that the Demonland supporters are nuturing her.

Isn't that what you do to kittens and puppies?

You mean current Richmond player Ricky Petterd?

You mean current Richmond player Ricky Petterd?

Yeah him. The team was walking the boundary after a (rare) win and he said he get robbo to sign it and told her to ring the club the next day or something like that. And we rang and nobody knew anything about it

That just goes to show how the club was back then pre 2007ish.

No one apparently willing to go the extra yard to help our supporters with they're heartfelt dreams.

not good enough back then, & a big fail looking after the supporter base.

I have a feeling, things are a lot better in the office admin these days.

I ask what is the game about then if it isn't built on peoples dreams?

They mayty as well have spat in her

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
