Round 2 - 3 of our NAB Cup games not televised

It just came to my attention that more than likely this week will be our only game on TV this NAB Cup campaign unless we make the grand final. In both round 2 and 3, we are playing in rural areas and Foxtel are not covering them.

Just thought I would let every one know who did not know already.

Very disappointing but guess that's the life of a Dee supporter.

At the end of 2012 season we were irrelevent to the competition.

Only by winning games during 2013 will we prove to be otherwise.

Start winning games and the world opens up until then we have no choice but to endure this crap position we find ourselves in.

You're being a bit sensationalist, aren't you OD?

Yes, a poor 2012, but this is purely based on a budgetary decisions made by Foxtel.

There are plenty of other games not covered, one that includes last year's premiers.

You mean we were relevant in 2012 jr?

Have you forgotten how many games we lost by 8+ goals.

How many games were over at quarter time.

We had one genuine win all season.

Yes not all games will be covered but the majority will be sides like us that don't rate.

club should see if it can do some sort of streaming of the match to give supporters the chance to see it. Surely the NBN has done 90% of country areas by now!

There are 36 NAB games of which 18 are being televised. So it's hardly just the MFC.

That said, we were probably the least watchable club in the league last year.

At best BH one of the worst three

The Giants round 3 game is on foxtel, GC,Port and us are the only three teams that are getting stiched up with not one game in round 2 or 3. The bulldogs also get a coverage game in round 2.

At best BH one of the worst three

I'd say the worst. Most neutral supporters were quite interested in watching the Giants last year and to a lesser extent the Suns.

On a different note the march 9 match v st Kilda at Casey we should try to make a massive turnout. Show Casey that we (the entire club) are embracing the area as a part of us.

I agree. I like watching up close at Casey and having a stubby. You can't beat it. We should get a demonland marquee happening. Have some beers and anyone with some differences on here can sort it out on the field for half time entertainment.

Just love the idea cfh.

could well be better than the game

I'd jump in at half time but I don't have a problem with anyone on here. Even if I did I start off well but finish very poorly and then CW will be all over it. I can't handle another investigation. Could we get a marquee and name it "the vault"?

I acknowledged we were terrible....but do you really think they want to send a commentary to Renmark? Or Alice Springs?

I was a decision made on budgets, not on watchability.

A live stream or at least a radio call would be nice, but I really don't expect that any game played in Renmark will ever get a run on TV.

Was it Ballarat where they had that North game last year that Foxtel tried to broadcast and ended up delivering silence for the first quarter? No wonder they've decided it's not worth their while to go to the country.

I reckon 5AA might do the Renmark game.

I'll be off to Casey Fields for the St. Kilda game and then off to watch us in the NAB Cup grannie.

I'm not that fussed. We might be able to DL the games from the AFL site. The round three game against the Saints is at Casey so I might head over and watch it live.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
