David Neitz should be there, he is a great Demon. Record games, record goals, record games as captain. Not only that he passed up on a final year career ending injury payment of well in excess of $100,000 because he knew the club couldn't afford it. Well ahead of Garry Lyon in terms of a great club man.

FWIW I agree the focus should be on our future. For young supporters Smith, Barassi and the like are just names from our past who hold no real connection to the present. If they are going to be noted surely we should have Tom Wills, perhaps our most famous identity.

Agree that Neitz probably deserves a place more than Lyon, but who/what would you suggest to represent the future?

The future as far as the current playing group is concerned, is unknown... but by acknowledging our past, the future can only get better. Perhaps the images in the banner can be hyperlinked to wiki articles relating to each player, so that those young supporters you speak of, can be educated in the history of the club?

Oh and Rhino... is it possible for you to invoke your Moderator powers for good, and ban/obliterate the two accounts posting spam in the General Discussion forum?

Sorry I should clarify. Higher resolution shot of Robbie. That one is a little blurry, looks like it came from a newspaper. Finding higher resolution shots of him has proved difficult :(

The banner I am more concerned about is the one at the ground. Maybe we should get the guy who held up the moneybags to hold up a sign saying My club is not disgusting

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
