If we get Toumpas tonight Mrs Lee is going to have a late night.

Too much information :)

I haven't a bloody clue what a "stay at home mid" is either.

I believe that refers to our midfield last year who certainly didnt turn up at the ground to play

Toumpas look too skinny in my opinion ;)

I think that is BS. And no-one would tell you if there was 'an arrangement'...

totally [censored], its been bullshitt for the best part of a month, and still bullshitt.

This should do the trick - KEFALOGRAVIERA

that'll put the old weight on anything

Contrary to recent reports, I don't think Toumpas will be available.

Awks....

Had GWS gone for Toumpas, we would not have taken O'rourke or Plowman. We WOULD have chosen Wines. Jimmy is a gun but feel for Wines.

Maybe that was Wines throwing Toumpas over his shoulder?

was dissappointed last year, not to get Wines, Solid build ready to play Still feel the same

I am the same also. With all the information we had plus the Viney Family and Ollie Wines wanting to play with us you just think that there is not a brain in the footy department. Wines wanted to come to us so much Port got the vibes he wanted to be in Melbourne.

Wines will be an elite player, cannot say the same for Toumpas.

Also the argument that you cannot have Viney and Wines in the same team is rubbish. Ask Paul Roos if he would have them in the team. The answer would be YESSSSSS I have no doubt.

Whilst some think I have it in for Toumpas, nothing could be further from the reality. I wish him well at Melbourne and thoroughly hope he does evolve into the player some will have us believe. I indeed think he will be a better than average player. I simply dont think he was THE choice at THAT moment in time given what our REAL requirements were/are.

Selecting Wines would have already vindicated that selection whilst the jury is still out on Jimmy. This to me such an obvious distinction.

The only way we will get Wines is if he TELLS port he wished a trade to us. Whilst hes enjoying good footy in a finals playing team i wont hold my breath. Bugger

Wines in the best 5 first year players think second in the votes last night

Jimmy T is a long way off

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
