This is very sad. Many could see it coming but it's now so final.

We will miss you Barty, you gave it your all. It's such a shame your body couldn't keep up with you.

Hope to see you in the crowd at the G.

Even at the end of his career, Barty put MFC and teamates 1st, thanks Barty and all the best. We WILL be stronger because of his influence on the younger brigade.

Others have referred to Nate Brown & Matty Whelan. To me, Barty was the next in line to inherit their crown as our premier tough nut small defender. I will miss him.

On SEN tonight he talked with Ox about going into "import-export" business. Don't know what that means, but I'd be glad if he would just export some of that Barty G&D attitude into some current players, my kids .....and maybe the whole of Gen Y while he's at it.

Best of luck for the next chapter Clint.

Some of you liked him and good on you - including my daughter - damn it, we all have our favourites. (mine are Cook, Gysberts, Sheahan, and Morton) So if you are feeling bad I'm worse. Barty was one of the many good VFL players we have on our list (and who we have added to this year) who got more out of himself than he had. Good luck to him. He served our club well.

When he was on the footy field at least you know he would always give 100% which was more than could be said of some of his team mates

Interesting the article says "He later described the weight gain process as the most difficult thing he had endured." He should have given me a call, I have weight gain completely sussed

He would always give 100 percent. Did he play in any of the alleged tanking games? He should be called as a star witness - no way he wouldn't go out to do his best, every game.

Great ambassador for the club....................... like to interview him, Wilson - or would he give far too much positive copy for you to handle ?

Can't be hypocritical - I never thought he was really up to it - and I'm sure I criticised him more than once on this forum. But the more you hear about his injury problems the more you have to respect him for what he was able to produce - and the more you understand those soft little kicks!

100 games for the MFC is a great achievement. Obviously a highly respected member of the leadership group. Well done, Barts .... and good luck

Really good interview on the MFC site, the character he is known for comes through.

Full respect to Clint. Best of luck with the future, happy he made it to at least the good respectable 100 games line.

Yes, a very sad, premature end to another MFC career. Maybe not endowed with masses of natural talent. But, you could never doubt his endeavour. Always gave his all, and was a fine servant of the Club who certainly held his own at this level.

I've had a similar treatment to Clint's on my arthritic knee, with stem cells (albeit not farmed from my own fat cells, but from Bovine sources) injected into my knee, and it has been very successful, with re-growth of the cartlidge. But, I have been warned the knee will never be completely 100%, and I'll have to be careful about putting too much of a load on it, lest the new cartlifge could be damaged or lost. Knowing this, I had to wonder how Clint could have hoped to return to putting the massive loads on his repaired knee that the demands of AFL footy require, without seriously compromising the new cartlidge. Still, I know the treatment works, and if Clint treats his knee nicely, he should be able to at least get some relief from the problems he has had with it as he goes about a normal lifestyle.

All the best for the future, Clint. And, congratulations on your fine, albeit far too short, career in the Reb & Blue. You can be very proud of it!

Gonna besadly missed.. well done on a good career barty wasn't the most skilled but bot he had heart and courage!

Good to hear that Neeld was desperate for him to hang around the club!

All the best barty!

Decent of Clint to announce his retirement before list lodgement. Unlike Adam McPhee who resigns today after signing a 1 year contract extension and denying Freo a National Draft pick. They now have to use the PSD to complete their list.

Farewell Clint and thanks for everything. Probably one of the toughest players in the AFL. There are some small forwards around the league sleeping better now.

Thanks for all your effort Clint .

Good luck with the rest of your life.

You're all class .

I'm sure everything will work out for you from here on in mate, whatever you do!

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
