CONFIRMED

I lol'ed

Even if Frawley wanted out, he is contracted so good luck to him.

He is ours, and we won't be letting him go!

Pick 13 is gone & is now Pick 20.

Dees expect another top 25 pick to come their way via other deals in coming days also!

Draft wise, Dees confident of Toumpas @ 4 with Wines & Macrae rumored to be GWS pref choice at 3 & even Grundy has come into contenion at that pick if they lose Giles. If GC had #2 Toumpas would be gone, but now they dont, dees have a shot!

it has been said in another thread that Dom Barry could also be part of the Hogan trade , have you heard anything on this ?

I have heard a rumour (supposedly from the mouth of a StKilda director) that Frawley wants to go to St Kilda. Can somebody confirm that this is rubbish please!!!

He welcomed Viney to the club with open arms today

Great news getting @jackviney12 at pick 26! What a steal! Welcome to the club big man! #toughasnails

Neeld loves his pace & rebound from defensive 50, may be added as the final piece instead of the late pick GWS has been asked to add to complete the deal.

Will know by midday tomorrow we hope!

My god, this trade period makes our previous 5 year's trade efforts look like Crafternoon gatherings of the local CWA.

(Mitch Clark excepted, of course)

That's what happens when you have a coach who isn't afraid to go after what he wants, as opposed to one being lead around by the nose, by an incompetent recruiting manager.

Nudge, 3 and 13 for Hogan sounds overs even with pick 20 and/or Barry thrown in the mix. In your opinion is this related to the Viney deal?

thankyou

so the deal might look like 3+13 for Hogan+20+Barry? Why Barry over someone like Jed Anderson Nudge (if you know)?

If we take Grundy at 4, Hogan at 3 and Dawes at 20 wouldn' t that result in the MFC wasting another opportunity to fix our midfield...

Has to be 13 to GC for Caddy.

I bet that was the sweetheart agreement with GC to pass.

They will probably announce it later so it seems like it just happened naturally. That's my bet.

I am 100% certain we will recruit a midfielder with pick 4.

Viney and pick 4 wont be sufficient enough to turn midfield around. 3 and 13s is overs for Hogan...

Everyone seems to be forgetting a kid Neeld drafted last year, in Rory Taggert. He hits the contest hard and has a good kick on him. I reckon he might have a thing or two to do with our re-shaping midfield.

If he can get on the park...

Hopefully something like Gysberts for Wellingham is put on the table. We need outside mids.

Pick 20 have much talent in the draft? Any chance Vlastuin or Simpson will drop that far?

Think im just shattered over no Stringer or Kennedy :(

Our midfield is mostly still very young. Grimes, Viney, Trenners, Howe, whoever pick 4 is, Jordie, Jones, Taggert. There's a midfield there that has to be developed. I don't think it's about finding players with talent at this point, it's about sorting our sh*t out as a club.

Ah the forgotten man!! Went to a couple Casey games this year, one specifically to watch him and definitely liked what I saw anyways. He is classier than Tynan in my opinion and showed a great leg hitting team mates.

Cant recall him smashing packs but remembered some great runs (Blease like) and hitting team mates lace out.

i think 1 would get to 20 yes

Something doesn't seem right to me with this pick 13 business.

How sure are you that it is part of the Hogan trade? It doesn't make sense to me why GC pay less for MD1.

I'm getting a sick feeling that if pick 13 is gone, GC have it. And we have a player that doesn't want to be on our list.

Someone tell me it can't be possible.

Actually drafted by the one and only Barry P.

Spot of revisionism going on on the boards.

Getting Pedersen and Dawes in addition to Hogan is madness. We need midfielders - one key forward (Hogan) should be the aim with the rest spent on midfielders.

100% correct

Hogan is 17. He's an investment in the future. Dawes and Pederson are investments in the present.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
