I wonder whether this will effect his tenure on the MFC Board?

Went to a conference he spoke at recently, has a massive amount of passion for MFC, I would think that not only will he stay on the board, but Ch 10 will start producing some MFC reality shows...

I agree, his passion for the MFC is great. Hopefully, given the new job is Melbourne based, he will continue on the Board.

However after two knee reconstructions he may need a new career

Got me thinking though...

"Keeping up with the Joneses" (Pre-season training reality show)

"Mitchbusters" (Weekly Mitch Clark highlights show)

"Watts Cooking" (Must watch TV for the haters, as young Jack and Lucas endeavor to bulk up their frames through 30 minute recipes)

"Chips" (Frawley showing some authority on the bike)

Sure there's plenty more, but I won't totally derail the thread...

Why not stuie the original is not getting much comment.

In fact not much to discuss for Dees supporters at present

Woops...

Anyways, as I briefly mentioned earlier, if you've ever heard him speak about the Dees you would be in the same boat as me and think it would be 99% that he'd stay on the board.

I want MFC fantasy shows because reality is giving me ulcers.

Only problem with the "Being Jack Watts" show is that everyone in Australia would watch the first episode making it the highest rated program for the week, then everyone will jump off it saying it's a heap of crap, and the typical "told you so" would echo through the halls of Demonland when it drops out of the top 10 ratings. Sadly if he doesn't win a gold logie he would be deemed a failure.

Howcroft is a very smart operator. I wonder if MFC has use of his marketing expertise.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do the MFC board members actually do? Do the have an active, hands-on input into the running of the club or do they just ratify recommendations?

Ian Johnson was on the board of the MFC for many years at the same time as he was General Manager at GTV-9. I can't see any reason why Russel can't do both if he wants to.

And hopefully he'll get the Ten Network re-interested in bidding for AFL rights next time they fall due. Competition between free-to-air providers makes for a better product.

I've met him at the last couple of AGM's, clued up bloke!

However Ch 10 are in such deep sh*t he'll have his hands full with them.

However a nice relaxing time with the MFC board may just be the tonic he needs after a hard day at the TV studio.

I reckon just bid for the our games, he'll get them really cheap and they'll be live every week not matter where you live :) Once we start killing it it will be a ratings and cash cow for ten...a perfect storm..

Melbourne's Got Talent.

Not sure whether congratulations or commiserations are in order for our Director.

Ch 10 are a basket case made even more basket casey by the presence of Gina Rinehart on the board.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
