My Bombers supporting mates (all of them) would love him to head to Melbourne... or anywhere that isn't Essendon really... Not excited about this rumour at all.

I would not say no to anyone who can kick goals for the MFC.

He can take a Mark for a small guy or dive. lol

He would not be that bad of a pick up IMO.

I would love the dees to go after Matt White from the tigers as a small forword with pace.

What? You want a source for an unsubstantiated rumour? Even if it were on the front page of every newspaper in Australia, it would still be a rumour at this stage. Edited by Chook

cant poach a player until the club has finished the season otherwise big fines apply. Highly doubt we would risk that so i doubt it would be Byrnes since Geelong are still playing. Would prefer Monfries only 25 Byrnes 28. Monfries is a good kick!!

My bummers mates reckon he's the first woman to play AFL. No thanks.

Ditto.. and perfectly put.

You know the only intelligent bummer supporters in existence!

Geez were getting desperate here at D/land..

Angus Monfries is Pus.

In all seriousness (because I haven't read an article by SNF since this time last year) do they every write anything close to accurate?

All of their articles I read this time last year didn't eventuate...

The very poor choice that was Moorcroft (throw in Heffernan for that matter) is absolutely irrelevant to the current discussion....different players and more importantly very different footy departments at both clubs this time around.

maybe Monfries can kick and maybe Monfries can and will chase and provide defensive pressure and maybe Monfries doesn't 'sook off' if asked to do something by the coach that he 'doesn't like'! I would imagine if any of those KPIs didn't match Neeld's expectations then he would not be offered a contract.

What about 3rd time lucky?

No thanks monfiries is not much better then bate why on earth would we want him?? Also not interested in peake at all he may have a touch of class but is an absoulete soft [censored] seriously these types of players are not going to improve our club on or off the field.

Monfries is alright.. not amazing

You blokes have NFI

Monfries would be best 22 for most teams in the AFL

Just remember while we have been crap for the last 6 years, Monfries has kicked over 150 goals for The Bombers

Just remind me when we last had a small forward contributing 25 plus goals in a season.

I can't think of one since The Wizard!

My mail is that we have offered him a 4yr deal

Your mail, or did you see the @ClarkyHeraldSun tweet "Angus Monfries to Melbourne. Four year deal. Rival clubs convinced it's happening."?

Do we really have to see that little poseur running around for us for the next four seasons, coiffing his fringe, arching his back and flailing his arms at the slightest touch from a defender?

I'd almost rather given Aaron Davey a three-year extension.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
