Trade rumours

Featured Replies

Day would be the only one worth going for as he is a promising KPF that was highly rated as a junior

Knights and Drummond are over the hill IMO

Richmond really do seem to be the dumping ground for us. Strauss won't go, definitely need his disposal out of the back 50.

Like the sound of Day and thats about it! I would love to know if there is any truth to the Strauss rumour though, and I really hope there isn't.

also mentions that charlie dixon could be on the move. if we could get a deal done that involved day and dixon (although this is obviously unlikely to happen), we could go along way to building a young and promising forward line, a bit like wce with kennedy, darling, cox/naitanui and lynch

Day and Dixon -> Moloney, Petterd, 3rd round pick

Love this time of year

Sadly it's been more exciting then the footy!!

I love this time of the year.

Following bigfooty's 'rumours' for a couple of years now and their strike rate for accuracy is probably.....1% correct.

No way, that trade is too heavily favored towards GC.

Two up and coming gun forwards vs a midfielder that appears to be on the way down and a half forward that is struggling for form. maybe a 4th round pick instead

1%?? Judd was ours and Scully was definately staying according to all my sources!

Our trading since the days of Daniher has been softly softly and pretty crap really. One season under bailey I dont think we traded at all. When they say they are going hard Im hoping they mean it - i want another Mitch Clark-style pick up. Infact Id take a whole team of them!

Day is signed up until 2014.

That said, in a fantasy world I would move heaven and earth for him.

i know that we are actually intrested in koby stevens and will make a play for him.

Sorry, I was being generous...

Hasn't shown much...if you're right, what's the interest based on?

trade rumours are

- Demons to look at Josh Caddy from Suns in exchange for pick 13

- Koby Stevens and Chris Knights are on our radar

- forget Gysberts to Geelong ... not going anywhere

Found the below on bigfooty, thought a few were interesting and hadn't been mentioned on DL before.

Ones i found interesting were

Strauss to Richmond

Knights to Melb

Drummond to Melb

Day to Melb

Hei Oli

Yes interesting and a little like moving swapping Pawns with your chess buddy :)

If this is the case with Knights we are looking at another Matthew Bate, no pace and lack of agility now

Josh Drummond? Would probably be pretty popular with the guys in rehab and recovery groups but I'd rather get somebody who can get on the park more weeks than not.

Talent to burn in a body that wont let him.

Kevin Pietersen has been dropped from the 3rd test team for sending South Africa players text messages during the 2nd test criticising Strauss - maybe because it's because he's already signed at Richmond?

lol

Richmond interested in Rivers

If they want strauss and rivers then what can they give us? Their first round pick would be at about 10 wouldnt it?

Unless Nahas, Deledio, Martin or Riewoldt are on the table I cant see much else that we would be interested in from them except maybe Grigg?

I don't want Nahas or Riewoldt. Both are overrated. Riewoldt would be a cultural disaster for us. All he does is point and yell. I think the plan is to get rid of those types.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
