6 - Jones - Once again, gave his all all day. Quickly realising his potential: obviously loving Neeld's new world order.

5 - Green - Alluding to his best form. Although I do have reservations about his next year, since it'd only be a rookie spot, I'd have no qualms about keeping him on, especially given the dearth of senior players on our list.

4 - McDonald - One of the few highlights in the continuing lowlight that is 2012.

3 - Grimes - Slowly gaining confidence and form. Will definitely grow to be a massive figure of this club.

2 - Sylvia - Couldn't deny him votes, but would love to see Col have this kind of form against a decent team.

1 - Howe - Doing some good things, and is slowly lifting his work rate.

6. Jones - another great four quarter effort. Work ethic has always been outstanding, but now plays within his limitations (which are becoming fewer, btw).

5. Green - shades of Brad in his younger days. Fantastic attitude, despite the set-backs over the last couple of years.

4. Sylvia - Good game Col, including plenty of run and hard work. More of the same next week please.

3. Tapscott - best game for the year.

2. Grimes - Slowly working back to the Jack Grimes we all want to see.

1. Dunn - Much maligned, but was good today imo. We need more in the back half with his kicking skills

how are people giving T Mcdonald votes?

Good day for the seniors.

6. Sylvia (as others said, would be good to see this against best teams)

5. Jones (most consistent and glad we have another three years at least of this)

4. Grimes ( gives his all)

3. Green ( great delivery to him and whilst picky did not like his celebration after 4th goal but good to see some enjoyment)

2. Howe ( worth going just to see him)

1. T.McDonald. ( looks a defender and even his disposal is improving)

Apologies to Trengove, Joel MacDonald and Spencer

just as many crosses as there were ticks next to t.McDonald's name for me today

1. T.McDonald. ( looks a defender and even his disposal is improving)

you are kidding regarding his disposal aren't you?

it was dead set shocking today

just as many crosses as there were ticks next to t.McDonald's name for me today

Agree with that assessment. Tom has loads of potential, but needs a fair bit of work on his disposal. Couldn't get him into my top 6 in an even team performance.

6- Green- Brilliant game, could be back into his 2010 form. Easily our most able forward target

5- Jones- Continued to dominate, also held Ablett out of the game in the second half at least partially

4- Tapscott- Best game of his career, really made an impact in all areas

3- Howe- Flew around as usual and got plenty of the ball, 6 contested marks!

2- Dunn- Best game he's played in defence, great disposal, long kicking and speed

1- MacDonald- Really improved after being dropped regularly, he's starting to be that great medium defender we need

Grimes, Sylvia, Moloney and Garland were also worth mentioning, as was Spencer who I think is improving and is looking less clumsy

On Jack Grimes- first quarter - how ohh how can backing back into a player with eyes firmly on the ball and copping knees in the back in an unrealistic attempt to mark be deemed a push against Grimes by Schmidt. Sooooo clueless.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
