You are joking?

What is this...... sugar coated Code?

Cale Morton - 26 disposals

Although Cale had a high number of possessions, he was not as influential on the game as we would expect of him.

The tea leavers would say "Most possesions uncontested" and again.... in last quarter when all was lost!

Won't sugar coat?? Bah!

As I stated in the WbeevScorps thread, he probably got half those possessions in the last when it was well and truly done and dusted.

Satterley is right in saying he wasn't influential at all. I could say that for every player in the Scorps side. They were beaten comprehensively all over.

With no McDonald or Sellar, surely Davis gets a nod?

I want to see Couch but who knows...

Jones and Jamar back for us to be a chance.

Tigers in recent weeks have lost Vickery for the season, Grimes for a month, King for a month and Jackson to suspension for two weeks, so certainly have their own personnel issues right now.

For mine:

Out-McDonald, Bail, Tapscott

In-Cook, Morton, Gysberts

For every one good game Tapscott plays, he has 4 or 5 where he doesnt look like anything else but someone wanting to take an opposition player out. I still dont know where he will end up playing for us (if at all)...

Gysberts was off and on all day. Short of a gallop and clearly not ready.

Just goes to show with both Gysberts and Jack Viney how much a broken jaw can set you back. Same for Sylvia courtesy of Kennedy a couple of years ago. We know through reports that Jack shed nearly 8 kgs and was in a world of pain for a week after wodjinski went through him. He returned and admittedly was pretty rusty. So too Gysberts. Jordie Gys is a couple of weeks away IMO.

Thanks HT, I didnt see the Casey game this week and have only given a cursory glance to the match reviews, knowing there wasnt going to be many pleasant readings in there. Given Id say not many played well at all down at Werribbee, do we bring in a 'known' player, albeit with well spotlighted frailties such as a Petterd instead?

They won't drop Bail. Misson's injury report was interesting, very happy with how Bail played and came up after a few weeks off. He'll play. Talked about Jurrah also and seemed to suggest his ankle is ok but is getting fitness up and may not be far away (but of course that probably means 2-4)

Having not watched any of Casey all year it's a little hard to judge. But the one thing i will say is that how different the VFL is compared to the AFL. Totally different brand of football and sometimes players like magner etc can dominate as it's always a contested slog so players like Morton etc will struggle more.

Having said that I think we should be looking at next with our selections now, Bate should be gone, clearly not up to it. Tappy and Blease should play out the year as they are in the future best 22. Dunn is on edge but i think he has been ok the last couple of weeks.

In: Jamar Jones Cook Williams

Out: Spencer Bate Magner Mcdonald

I would put rivers and garland back down in defence now, we no they can go forward but are more valuble for us down back.

Bring in two players who were recruited to kick goals, Cook and Williams. Two prong attack like Franklin Roughead circa 2008. Will it work as well? Hell no but at least it gives our mids something to kick to and it also shows the supporters if we have some depth or not.

Some of the posters on this thread are really having a laugh.

Leigh Williams is a Rookie with 3 or 4 VFL games under his belt, from suburban footy, yes it would be wonderful to see but he would be killed

What is Magner doing wrong? He is playing the role Neeld wants him to, so is Bate, one is a defensive forward and the others job is to get the ball inside 50 which he did, it just didn't stay in there

Spot on satricon, Magner and Bate did their jobs on Sunday from what I could see.

If Rivers and Garland had played as well we would have been a lot closer that 10 goals at the end.

And you forgot to add that it is only 6 weeks ago that Leigh Williams was in a coma in Hospital.

Give the kid a break

Looks like Martin and Connors have been naughty for the tigers. What a shame both could be out.

Ok so who comes out for jones? or do we leave in bate and magner and make jones come back through casey?

In response to Demon Dave's comments.

Out-McDonald, Bail, Tapscott

In-Cook, Morton, Gysberts

If Morton gets a game it is certainly a retrograde step, you just cannot continue to play a bloke who refuses to man up, stands in no man's land in the Bermuda Triangle demanding the footy( always by himself) then when turnovers occur, as they inevitably do in this side his lack of correct positioning hurts you big time!

Nup, until Cale Morton learns to be inside as well as an outside player his worth in this team is highly questionable. And I don't believe for one minute he can change his style of play. Leave in magoos and look for suitable trade at seasons end IMV

I thought he was crap The only player with less possessions was Spenser but the alternative is Bennell so not really an alternative

I am never sure what Bail's role is in the team.

Does anyone?

i cant see Cook being anymore influential then Dunn at the moment. He needs more development time at Casey in my opinion.

Wondering if Jamar and Jones will get through their "calf tests" this week.

Must have had a strenuous workout on the track last week, because they walked off after GWS unscathed. At least that appeared to be the case. Anyone have details on their respective injuries other than they face tests this week ?

Bate will play his 100th this weekend if he's named. Out of 9 games this season he's really only played well against the Dogs and the Giants.

Might find himself with the green vest this weekend.
