Bartram obviously kicked that goal by aiming to miss. That's the only conceivably way his "poor" skills could have got the result.

Morton hanging out the back of the stoppage, gets the quick handpass and kicks it into the forward 50, where intense defensive pressure gives us a goal. Barty!

Lol.. Just trying to give Morton credit for anything now aren't you... He was handed the ball and kicked it inside 50 to no one, then about 2 minutes of chasing and tackling later Barty got a hard earned goal... Is Morton Batman?!

Sylvia having an impact.....how razzled does Goddard look.

Na na na na na na na na , na na na na na na na na Bartman!!

Come on Dees!

Great to see the Neeld fist pump after the Bartram goal!

Sucks to be watching from the couch! (two sick kids at home)

If he wasn't there, that quick handball out would have gone to a saint and we would never have got the inside 50 or the goal. I guarantee you that's what Morton's in the side for. Did you love that Bartram goal? Well it wouldn't have happened without the input from everyone in that chain. Magner for the handball, Morton for the kick to the contest, Sellar for providing the contest, and the relentless pressure of about 4 or 5 Dees. Like it or not, Morton was a big part of that goal.

Haven't had the nervous shakes at 3/4 time for many a game!!! Go Jordie. Rain easing might favor the Aints...

One to go. Gee its good when they have a go.

It's what we need every week.

Give the coach his first win.

Early doors, but we might just b seeing the beginning of the HARDEST TEAM TO PLAY AGAINST.....rippa DEE's

Like the emotion of Neeldy

Goddard gone forward..

LOL... Dunno if you can stick up for a player by saying his job is just "being there"...

great mark Garland over Milne..

God Nathan Jones has sticky hands... some of his gathers are unbelievable!

trengove n watts need to do something

trengove n watts need to do something

Yep

We have had a lot of great negators but we need some POSITIVE play

MUST SCORE NEXT GOALS

I can't really see how we can conjure up enough goals to win but a mighty effort so far.

In with a chance then that bloody umpire pings our ranga for HTB

there press is good, we can't get outta defence.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
