GAME DAY - Round 2

It should be on ABC and SEN radio. Sadly that's the best I can get access to. Given how bad the SEN team were to me over the NAB cup, I think I'll go with ABC.

Dees by four goals

I don't know what's more deluded- your tip or "liking" your own post lol.

Bate sub? Bet you he's glad Neeld coaxed him to stay. What's the point. Where is the chance to prove yourself. Where is the incentive- I'm sure being sub two weeks in a row would be very disheartening.

Anway, bring on the onslaught.

Spot on about Bate. Thought he did enough last week to warrant at least 3/4s of a game this week.

Stef out for Tom McDonald. Puts alot of pressure on Jamar. Bate sub again.

That could make it a tie for Mystery Injury of the Week between Stef and Beamer. Neither was on the injury list from earlier in the week. On top of that Dan Nicholson was suspended for drinking while in rehab but not on the injured list and Aaron Davey wasn't selected to play for either MFC or Casey this weekend.

Glad we recruited the best sports scientists in the land to ensure our list stayed healthy.

Look fforward to see how Mcdonald goes. There's my reason to watch :)

The gut is getting worse... Stef out and Bate sub... Here we go. I so want to be optimistic but it's getting harder and harder to be! Just want to see a bit of fight!! Go Dee's!!

Just want to see players getting better at implementing Neeld's game plan and improving the basics like positioning at stoppages.

I like Tom McDonald. A real competitor who also provides surprising run for a player of his height. Can get lost in a 1 on 1 marking contest in defence but a good pack spolier.

Hope Clark has a run in the ruck, as someone said on SEN crunch time, Ottens went to Geelong as their answer as a key forward and look what he ended up. I can see the same with Clark, very mobile big man and would be damaging around the ground.

Scenario... Sellar develops really well as a KPF, Jamar gets stolen by GWS, Clark goes into the ruck? Bit of bad, bit of good, but can understand a bit more now why we were so keen on Clark, good back up

Agree with you there. Bennell should be sub. If Davey does somehow end up playing, I won't be watching.

I disagree. We don't have much speed or line breaking options in this team as it is. He needs to put in over 4 quarters, i would hope off the HB line and play the game of his life if we're to have any chance of keeping it under 12 goals i reckon. And when he's not running his guts out off HB then he should be resting in the forward line to try and create some crumbing/goal scoring opportunities there if at all possible. No genuine small forward in this team which is nothing new for us i realise.

Closer than i thought. It is all upstairs.

Was Martin dropped? I wonder.

I don't know what's more deluded- your tip or "liking" your own post lol.

I call it "masturliking"

I thought I'd kick off Gameday early so we can actually talk about footy instead of the other stuff that's been in the media.

I think it's fair to say there are a lot of pessimists around and probably rightly so after our last half last week and the sombre mood that seems to be pervading the club.

On the other hand, we have 22 blokes out there. What if everyone of them played at his best?

Here are the midfield match ups taken from today's Herald Sun:-

Priddis v Grimes

Yes, we need to be at our best and we don't have the star factor but I'm not buying into a 24 goal defeat either.

Bartram v Priddis?

I call it "masturliking"

nice catch

and for a particularly self absorbed lurker we can have Masturlurking

Im assuming Clark will ruck today at some stage. He will have to. Jamar cant do it on his own all day. Its 30 degrees over there. Disappointed Bate is sub again. We need amiracle to win today. Just hope they go out there and man up on there players and give it there all.

Oh god here we go... Just a bit nervous!!

Mark Neeld = Davros?

Oops.... after your comment WYL i though i better check total games played and the related average. I had an incorrect formula sitting in the Eagles column. Ours remains as is (unfortunately lol) but you might want to reconsider that upstairs bit a tad lol. Thanks for prodding me though. Always pays to double check your formulas once in a while :)

P.S. On a lighter note (pardon the pun) the previous team 'games average' i had in their for the Eagles was their average weight lol

I'm gonna cancel foxtel today. I don't think I have the mental strength to watch what's gonna happen today.

Oh bugga, Telstra just fixed the cable that we get foxtel thru in this area, now i GOTTA watch the game cause i'm a DEMON TRAGIC and just luv the agony and very rare ecstasy.........GO EFFING HARD LADS

So what is the updated stat?

Tony Shaw.."Talk is cheap"

He must be upset that Neeld agreed to the pre match interview with Greg's brother.

Geez thats a great short left by scarlett

So what is the updated stat?

Just the Eagles total number of games played....and their "average games played". Although the word just is probably not a good term given it's a fair jump from the original figure

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
