Port Adelaide v Melbourne NAB Cup Week 4

Featured Replies

Howe subbed off after being run down by Clarke. Friendly fire. Forward line have a bit of work to do in the "it's mine, no it's mine" department. It's great that Clark wants everything, but there are other players out there.

<Insert Melbourne player here> polaxed by Clark

I have a feeling this will be happening a lot. "Smash the packs" is going to leave some bruises on our guys.

71 more touches....

27 more marks...

6 more tackles....

12 less hitouts....

I don't care what bank sponsors what cup! That is [censored] poor football....

Did they just say we have put an extra bloke in defence??? Oh dear God!!!

this is honest to god the worst commentary ive ever heard in my life

unlistenable

I've actually had to turn off....also in part because Melbourne are insipid, but the commentary is bordering on hysterical. You would think you were listening to the Grand Final not a practice match! As a Melbourne supporter you just get nothing out of it.

I've seen this one before.

Down by 70 to 80 at three quarter time. Outscore in last to lose by 50 to 60.

Prove me wrong Melbourne. It may be NAB Cup but have some pride in your performance and jumper!

The Stats

Possessions

Port 124 MFC 51

Sylvia 1 handball

neeld all of a sudden has a massive job ahead of him 2012, it was big to start with but it is only getting bigger the closer we get to round 1

Now some people would call you hysterical.... But I would call you a bloke who loves his club and is sick of seeing this [censored]!

our kick-ins are horrific again

The more things change...

The more things change, the more they set you Back. It'll take a little while to get us settled.

Were going thru a major shakeup in Style & personnel.

Port Trengove subbed off for them.

Disappointing that this commentary (?) says that Melbourne is heavily flooding yet they've just hit the goal line without any pressure.

What a station, geez.

Oh yeah, they're pigs..

Sounds like we cant play much worse - so we're probably still in the match.. is about the only positive i can think of so far.

the LJ situation?, the jimmy situation?, WTF is it this time? are players being worked too hard? 70 more f@cking possies in ONE quarter to PA..

Why do we play so bad, year after year, game after game?? have we a side of 'content' - players content to get a wage (beats mixing concrete, for eg..) and will only do enough to stay on the list.

no matter what the off-field situation is.. there is no solution - we just cant get it together..

there it is.. sorry about the vent..

see you's in a years time, when we all will try again..

And according to the 5AA idiots we STOLE Mitch Clark.......

Ok, depression levels have hit their peak.

Time to leave work, get away from the score updates and get drunk.

F&$k it.

We can only hope that if indeed we are flooding (which is what was said) that Neeld & Co. are just using this quarter to try a few things they have been working on over the pre-season to minimize our thrashings.... Because realistically, with the age/skill of our list, it will happen a few times during the year....

"Port to beat St Kilda next week"......I'm glad some people are getting excited about the NAB cup

Port 7. 3. 45 MFC 2.2. 14

Mcarthy scores a goal and I reckon this is nearly cooked again

Yep I'm calling it this early

In spite of the ear bashing, just threw on the Melbourne guernsey and feeling damn proud all over again. Go Dees! You rubbish team you.

I don't care what anyone says.... It IS exciting when your team is winning.... Regardless of the game.... We are so starved of this phenomena knows as EXCITEMENT that we have forgotten how good it actually feels!

I for one F'ing miss it!!

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
