Grimes injured

Featured Replies

Luck may be on our side this year .

Sicko.

Apparantly Neeld commented on 3AW - Grimes minor damage, 2 weeks and Jurrah will be back doing ball work in four weeks.

No need for the stress pills boys.

You realise he is the captain, yeh?

They wouldnt delist this guy until he was 50

Just like Mcdonald.

Did Jurrah just have another op, or, are they hoping it will heal in another 4 weeks?

Thank Christ for that. Hopefully this is his last injury in 2012 (and his career for that matter).

A day in the life of Demonland has been perfectly captured in this thread. Time capsule stuff.

Can stop feeling sick and obsessively checking Twitter for updates now, like some nutter.

Go Grimesy, live another day son!

Interesting tidbit when reading afl report that Melbourne club doctor Dan Bates attended to him.

That is first reference I could see to replacement for our previous crew

NN Is that Dr. Bates or Mr. Bates

Absolutely!

I'd love to say I'm above the rollercoaster, but I did have a minor coronary initially.

Yeah, let's not pretend that there was a single person who read this thread and went "oh I'm sure it will all be just fine, who cares". If you didn't experience a little bit of vomit in the mouth, you are not human.

It just seems to hit at this time of year and as a Demon fan we've been through this too many times to take anything for granted. Good luck to "Good Times", at least he can keep his fitness up while recuperating. Bring on Round 1 already!

WTF. We supposedly had nearly everyone available for the intra club now our injury list is (according to 360):

Grimes shoulder

Trengove shin

Clark knee

Moloney sore

Morton knee

Spencer knee

Strauss leg

Gawn knee

Jetta shoulder

Jurrah wrist

McKenzie anchilies

Taggert back

Tapscott hip

Williams back

Bring out your dead FCS.

lol, let's just see if this is actually 2 weeks or an 'MFC-fortnight' which is usually a couple of months

32 games in 3 years, yes let's give him the captaincy shall we, nevermind the fact he appears to be made of crepe paper

oh well at least we have the good old 'interrupted pre-season' disclaimer if he has a disappointing year

ah Melbourne, our motto should be 'stuffing things up since 1965'

You forgot Evans - indefinite...

so announced as 2 weeks, add the 250% MFC injury under-estimation rule, which means add another 5 weeks and then add another 1 to 2 weeks in the VFL and we should see Grimesy by around Round 6.

On a serious note, he has a solid pre-season under his belt, hopefully can sit out the next 2 games and then have a light run in the NAB Cup Final and be ripe by round 1.

Grimes should know by now that it's a bruise free game. He is a silly man for being captain and going in hard!! Especially given his injury ridden career. What was he thinking. A very bad example indeed.

Thank the man on the moon he was lkg down on us and it was not worse than it could have been. Phew, I wouldn't blame the guy for pulling back a bit. Just goes to show the quality of the MAN and it's obvious why he is captain.

Good grab by Blease

He is a good mark, and not many people would know/remember, but Blease had the equal 3rd highest standing vertical when at draft camp (70cm, equal with Watts, to Naitanui's 78cm).

Athletically gifted in more ways than just his running.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
