There was some dicscussion on this in the match thread, it's time to do this.

We we will be at the half way point of the season?

Brisbane at the G

WCE in Perth

Tigers at the G

Bulldogs at the G

Saints at the G

Geelong in Mordor

Hawthorn at the G

Sydney in Sydney

Carlton at the G

Essendon at the G

Collingwood at the G

Who will we beat?

And how many will delete their vote and change their prediction in the next few weeks?

Was very generous and only found 5 wins...

I was not generous and got 4 wins, but we obviously may steal one, or lose one.....lets steal a win

Hard games

WCE in perth

Geelong in Geelong

Sydney in sydney

plus Carlton

Collongwood

Hawthorn

Our second half must be easy if we have the weakest draw in the league?

I'll go for 3-8

0-11 is as likely as 6-5.

I actually voted 4-7

I forgot to add the zero win option...

5 - 6 wins . But 1 of those wins may be a surprise win which might have our fans pencilling in September !

I've tipped us to make the finals ( 8th , 7th ? ) so anything less than 5 wins and we might struggle to get there .

Cheers ®

As said in the other thread a few of these early games are going to be dangerous... I said 5 in this vote being generous as 3-4 could go either way.

Can't every game go either way????!!!

For god sake bring on round 1!!!

I'll give my reasoning:

Beat the Lions at home in Neeld's first game.

Get thrashed in Perth.

Pip the Tigers, who unforunately, have an amazing midfield that is far better than ours. We have Frawley though, and that means they don't have Riewoldt...

Beat the rebuilding Bulldogs at the G.

Beat the Saints because it is at the G.

At 4 and 1 go to Geelong, Hawthorn, Sydney and Carlton and lose all respect we gained in the first 5 weeks...

Beat the Bombers as they arrogantly come off a hiding of the GWS questioning whether we will be any better...

And get told by the Pies to 'stay down!'

There was some dicscussion on this in the match thread, it's time to do this.

Brisbane at the G W

WCE in Perth L

Tigers at the G W

Bulldogs at the G W

Saints at the G W

Geelong in Mordor L

Hawthorn at the G L

Sydney in Sydney L

Carlton at the G L

Essendon at the G W

Collingwood at the G L

This is our best case scenario imo

Oh, it's all meaningless fun...

After last yrars "Bruise Free" games. Carlton are a beatable team at the'G.

Unforunately, they have a blue chip midfield to our choc-chip midfield...

Unless Clark and Frawley are dominant figures, we will lose to teams with better midfields.

I've got us for 5. I'm expecting at least one surprise win (hopefully QB) but with a new coach and set up I expect that will work the other way at some point. It is sinking in that we are facing a lot of sides which need to show similar progress to us or are already there and abouts. I don't think the way footy is now allows teams to jump up the ladder, it's either a slow rise or a quick fall these days.

I got 5 wins by half way as well

As per the start of most seasons I am fairly bullish about how we will go and this year promises much. But then you look at playing Pies, Blues, Cats and Hawks over 5 weeks it could get quite ugly.

A lot will depend on the confidence of the playing group.

Go Dees!

Yes, but if we keep that attitude it will always be.

Beating Carlscum just needs A Class planning by the FD.

i hope our list does not forget those insipid games at the ' G last year.

Lets take it one week at a time, as others say 5 wins on paper look achievable, but we could lose one or two of them by a point or win them all by a margin under 1 goal.

As said previously we just need to beat those sides around us and pinch a few surprises against the top sides. I am pretty sure we will pinch a win somewhere in the West Coast, Geelong, Hawthorn, Sydney, Carlton and Collingwood matches.

Just need to start regularly winning the games we expect to win and the rest will fall in to place

I voted for four wins - Brisbane, Tigers, Dogs and Dons - but it could be more - Blues not a certain loss and neither is St Kilda. We have recently beaten Sydney in Sydney as well.

What attitude?

Reality?

How about no slaughters against us and a gradual improvement from round 1 onwards

number of wins is not that important but how about showing the fans that we are developing as individuals and more improtantly as a group.

ie no 186 point losses at either perth or Geelong

I think 6 wins can be done but i must admit i have only one eye. GO THE MIGHTY DEMONS

I've ended up with 5-6, could just as easily be 2-9.

Edit: - I'm now thinking 4-7 is more like it.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
