This question is for any of the other mods to read/reply/delete, so RR you need not concern yourself.

Lets not forget suspend/ban.

And your "Post of the year" has now been up 40mins without being deleted .... Amazing .

I agree, I reckon at least 50% or more of his posts are to berate others.

More...! Hahaha

The moderating here is good, except where RR is involved.

I think it's a fair enough question.

How is this antagonist a mod?

I know people that don't read Demonland just because of Rhino Richards.

Usually I couldn't care less, but I'm sick of seeing this guy's double standards, and his constant condescending hounding of WYL is frankly tiresome.

No feedback from Mods on this? Not surprised, it's been going on since I've been a member, so RR's conduct is obviously endorsed by the other Mods. It's a shame because this site would be much better without it.

Careful, some have disappeared at venting their frustration.

He has no point whatsoever.

Eddie's a great business man, smart, but arrogant as hell, and a patronising [censored] at times. Must be hard working your arse off to get Melbourne up and going again, only to have this guy speak about your club like as if it's nothing.

The guy is butthurt and frustrated.

It's fair game. This always happens: someone goes out of contract, and he/she is offered a job elsewhere. Just so happens we have someone close to Collingwood staff.

He's a butthurt moron sometimes. Love listening to him in the mornings, but Jesus Christ he can be an [censored].

Have to say , my media philosophy is " Where Eddie is , I ain't " [ Apologies to one J Dyer , though I feel he would be sympathetic ]

Careful, some have disappeared at venting their frustration.

FCS, this isn't Iran.

RR can bully a thread but that has little to do with him being a Mod.

They give up their time so we can waste ours.

Move along...

As long as the same rules apply to both mods and normal members I agree.

However, I dont agree if mods can bully and members can not.

When it comes to RR who really cares?

I don't think I've seen him actually post on a football thread its all politics and bickering.

Ignore and enjoy the rest of the comments

We would all be better off if RR DIDN'T give up his time...that is the point.

Every one is entitled to an opinion , even RR,if you don't agree with him so be it, but I will defend his right to say whats on his mind. I am big enough and ugly enough to look after myself and reply to his comments and state my opnions for what they are worth.

Bully him back and suddenly post start going missing and there's a knock on your pm door.

You don't see that as unfair?

Anyway, the responses thus far have shown that there is a problem.

This isn't a witch hunt, it's just about having a better forum.

Yes you are correct. But i do not like 3 pages of A4 sent to me as a PM bordering on personal attack, & then that same thread closed before i can reply. This has happened at least twice.

If it happens again i will copy and paste them onto the Forum.

RR gives up his own time as a moderator...

How nice.

We're all big and ugly and I'm sure we can all take care of ourselves, that's not the point.

Point is the other moderators do a great job, they speak their mind, they're even smart arses from time to time, but none of them are as antagonistic, abrasive or single minded in harassing or at least trying to belittle certain posters.

It's not hard to change your ways on a forum, you have from now til death to decide weather or not to hit the enter button. A moderator should make sure he's keeping the right standard before he/she hits enter.

Just ignore the narcissist. EASY! You're giving power to someone who clearly has never had any and is now all to eager to abuse it- remember if you feed the troll it keeps coming back!

So what's this thread about again?

I would like to think that by reading quality posts on D'Land, that in years to come when I have around 13,000 posts to my name (on current form, that'll be the year 2040) I will not have to revert to the diatribe that he does.

To be honest, RR taught me how to skim over posts.

Actually just on a note back on the topic - anyone noticed the Melbourne-Collingwood media stuff coming out the week we play each other?

I am defending RR from the 'stacks on the mods' from your initial grievance.

Using your criticism of RR to have a go at the mod situation on Land is not fair.

Nine times out of ten, if a mod is in your face it is with good reason.

But, yeah, RR needs to get out of few faces from time to time.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Having convincingly defeated last year’s premier and decisively outplayed the runner-up with 8.2 in the final quarter, nothing epitomized the Melbourne Football Club’s performance more than its 1.12 final half, particularly the eight consecutive behinds in the last term, against a struggling St Kilda team in the midst of a dismal losing streak. Just when stability and consistency were anticipated within the Demon ranks, they delivered a quintessential performance marked by instability and ill-conceived decisions, with the most striking aspect being their inaccuracy in kicking for goal, which suggested a lack of preparation (instead of sleeping in their hotel in Alice, were they having a night on the turps) rather than a well-rested team. Let’s face it - this kicking disease that makes them look like raw amateurs is becoming a millstone around the team’s neck.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
