I questioned whether I'd give away any of my draft secrets but for fairness I'll let you all know I'll be selecting Matthew Bate with pick 15 in the draft.

Cheers.

I am considering Bate at pick 10.

3 sleeps until the draft!!

But before we get there I'd like everyone's input into some of the setting I have gone ahead with.

1. Bye Rounds (11,12,13) will not be played in ultimate footy.

The AFL season this year will have 3 bye rounds where ony 6 of the 9 possible games will be played. Which effectively means 1/3 of your team will not be able to play in those weeks. For this reason I have chosen not to play UFooty in those rounds.

2. The 15 point category scoring system.

The details of this are in an earlier post. But basically:

  • There are 8 categories this year (Frees differential replaces FF & FA)
  • You will be awarded 2 points for each category this year except for Score % which will be one.
  • The reason Score % is only worth 1 is to avoid the inevitable draws that occur due to their being 8 categories instead of 9.

3. Team lineup:

POSITION STARTERS (EMERGENCIES)

Backs 4 (1)

Centres 5 (1)

Rucks 1 (1)

Forwards (F) 4 (1)

Utilities (UTL) 1 (1)

Bench (BN) 4

If any of these rules offend you then speak up now. Once we have done the draft I can't change it.

Yeah all makes good and reasonable sense I'm happy with all of that.

Just realised I have a 21st on Sunday evening so I'm dreadfully going to be relying on the pre draft rankings which is terrible :(

Hopefully I can leave early to save myself some later picks and fix it up!

Your friend/family member should know better than to have a 21st on draft night.

Also I recommend people jump online before the draft and test their system using the UFooty 'test your system' function which you'll find on the league page. From memory you need flash so ipads and iphones may be out.

Can confirm the draft is an iPad and iPhone no go zone. Really bloody annoying to have go back to the PCfrom the iPad. But ah well such is life.

Not brothers, we all sit together at the footy, they were keen to join in if there were any spots available and since there are now 18 spots I figured it made sense.

This info is probably elsewhere in the thread ... but how long is there between picks on Sunday? Should we make it two minutes? I'm in Europe and a bit worried that anything less might be cutting it a bit fine ...

Disappointed about the lack of discussion re. trading for the draft. So here goes nothing. Looking to consolidate the middle of the draft so I'm after a pick around 160-170 and offering both 202 and 231.

A hell of a lot of class on both those picks with Sam Reid and Melksham potentials around 200 and Rhys Palmer, Stephen Hill and Salopek all around 231.

Negiotiations are welcome.

I didn't even know this was an option, I guess it is a new feature.

I guess I have to submit the traded picks so if you do get a trade done with someone please have it submitted by at least 4:00pm tomorrow, I get locked out of making changes 2hrs before the draft.

Not Happy Jan ... Looks like I am going to have to rely on auto picks, takes away the fun of it.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
