They are starting to look like Melbourne from about 1965 until 2010.

you obviously missed a bit of footy in the 80's and 90's, i remain very proud of the sides that got to the GF's and finals series.

James McDonald #38 - it's all wrong

You can thank our last glorious coach for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard he's looking at starting a clothing line a la Buddy

First item off the production line will be a range of hats

The Scully:

It's all there in code.

Jack TReNgOve .... TRNO ..... The Real Number One.

As some like to refer to him here with the additional r :

Jack Trengrove .... arnge (range) - Jack Trengrove ... rrove (rover) ........range rover

Ugh .. and it's Monday. Bring on the APS.

have you considered help? modern medicine has made huge strides in recent years. there could be a cure

I was referring to training facilities.

The HUN finally caught up with the GWS captaincy news - Greater Western Sydney Giants to name captain before NAB Cup.

Luke Power and Callum Ward would make a good co-captaincy combo but I wonder what put Scully out of the running?

Lack of physical and mental maturity or is it the "injury"?

If this happens Voldemort will be earning double the combined earnings of the co-captains. Hmmm ...

I have had this printed on a t-shirt. Should arrive in the next couple of weeks. Cost $24.95 delivered.

can you tell me where i can get one?

That album will definitely sell out .

Willing to do anything for 94 cents..

Got it done online at vistaprint.com.au - it was $24.08 delievered. If you want to wait until mine arrives I can let you know how well it comes out, it should arrive within a week.

Not that I would encourage this sort of behaviour but ...

Nice Nirvana photoshop work there

I dont post at Bigfooty, but Biffinator's match previews are worth the visit! No suprise that he's leading the charge for that one!

I was a 10-y-o in 19651 - THAT was painful.

I even rejoiced (a bit) when Stan Alves won a flag with NM in ?1977 - that was bitter.

Over the years I've seen a number of players who started in Melbourne colours2 win flags with other teams - they were a pin [censored].

Youse guys are getting exercised about a boy who:

  • was drafted under doubtful circumstances, (ahead of a young man who, in retrospect, plainly merited the honour)
  • accepted a bucket load of money to play for an outfit that will probably make the early years of the Brisbane look successful and in doing so greatly harmed his own reputation, (but acting out of motives that are regarded as laudable in bankers)
  • as a result of the second point put himself under enormous pressure to perform at what might prove to be an impossible level of excellence
  • contributed little to our meager success over the last two years
  • we are probably better off without.

Enough already!!!

1 Anybody who doesn't know what happened in 1965 - ask a moderator

2 Admittedly, deserting THOSE colours between 1974-1986 might have been considered mitigating circumstances

That is a piece of true Art....would love to see the cheer Squad get hold of that one....

Brilliant.

Love his work WYL.

i do wonder if he will play Round 13....?

I hope so - there's going to be some hard bumps that day.....remember the night Carey played against Norf? I thought Archer was going to flatten him!!!

i do wonder if he will play Round 13....?

Nah, Sheedy won't let him. He would love to deprive us of big home game $$$s just to spite us for flicking him off

If, and it's a big if, the coward shows his face at the G in round 13, I will enjoy taking every inch of rage I have inside me, on him. And trust me, there is a LOT of rage!

I rarely boo opposition players, and I have never bothered booing guys like TJ, Thompson, Farmer or McLean. It seems a waste of time. But I WILL abuse the crap out of him and it WILL make me feel damn good. It will be made even better when we beat them by 200 points.

Sadly, because he is an immature coward and a [censored], he won't be there. Guaranteed.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
