I worry about FA. I cant see the clubs like the filth, carlscum, geelong, WC losing out. Their culture (winning and club) says traditionally players dont leave. It may mean the poorer clubs lose out. I hope the MFC is well prepared and match a culture that is tight and a winning one.

Quickly and simply, if i was Gold Coast or even Port Adel, I would be having a big crack at the Russian come season’s end.

These Club seem to lack a mature ruckman, and Jamar is from SA in the Power’s case...

Jamar completes 10 years of service at the end of AFL 2012 and can leave the Demons for the club of his choice at year’s end. Gold Coast and Port would be keen i reckon, as GWS are unable to touch him due to already taking their one MFC player already.

The Russian seems loyal, and committed, and is on the brink of being on the leadership group. Really hope he stays a Demon for life!! What do others think? Please correct me if i have any of the above mistaken....

Apart from Zac Smith, you have listed 3 dreadful ruckman gsmith12... And even Smith is only a one year rookie! Tell me how this cancels out my observation?

Don't be naive. If Smith went in the draft he would have been top 5 and you wouldn't question him. Renouf is a premiership ruckman who's battled injury since and Lobbe showed a fair bit of promise. He certainly wasn't smashed by Jamar this year. He could form a nice combination with Renouf, unless they want to pursue a one ruckman policy.

I'd be more worried about a club on the up without a ruckman making a play at Jamar. At the moment Coll, Carl, WC are all well served by rucks and Bailey does a good job at the hawks with Hale. Geel might be an option but I think there money will be too tight to lash big bucks at the russian and West and Vardy are a reasonable combo.

Listening to Jon Ralph on the radio today (don't think much of him but he made a good point) suggested that teams without salary cap room (ie Geel, Coll, Carl) would make hefty plays for players dangling post footy careers (ie outside the salary cap - Judd style). He suggested that such clubs have much greater resources in these areas than your demons, dogs, roos.

They tightened up the Judd rule to stop us keeping Scully, now making it the Scully rule. Those clubs can try, but it's harder to do these days. And Richmond and Clinton Casey had problems with after career property deals.

Think he was just referring to the fact we have so many to worry about; probably with many of them expected bigger $$$ in deals to squeeze all of them in it'll be tough!

Hmmn, maybe not enough of the 'Green' stuff to go around for everyone???

IMO some name players on our fringe moving forward, may have to look 'else' where?

agree with carlton and eagles but not so sure about the pies...jolly is good but there isn't alot of support if he goes down, and considering his injury worries last year it could happen again.

I agree, but he's the same age as Jamar and I'm not sure the pies could justify big bucks on having 2 * Jamar's when only one would get a game. It's a big expenditure for depth in a tight salary cap.

The rucks I have mentioned are by no means dreadful from my observations so perhaps the master is on the money suggesting you are naive besides why would two sides like Port and Gold Coast with no foreseeable premiership window bother with a 29 yo ?
