Getting Married....With Special Guest Luke Tapscott!

Just wanted to share my experience...

I just got married on Saturday night and my wife planned a surprise visit from Luke Tapscott!!!! hahahaha

He came in looking like an absolute picture of health, muscles were just incredibly massive...I don't know if you guys have seen him up close recently but he is so so massive it isn't funny...

He came in taking the microphone saying that your wife mentioned how much of a passionate supporter you were and wished me all the best in life and hopefully they could win a few games for us next season! Handed me a framed squad photo signed by the team and got some photos with him and had a good chat to him one on one and with all the family who are melbourne supporters..

Incredibly nice bloke...

He mentioned that the mature age blokes have been brought in to pile pressure onto players that have been getting "comfortable" for a number of seasons...And he said that Neeld has sorted a lot of blokes out.....And i asked him who and he just said "a lot of blokes" again....

He said the training was incredibly tough but the guys are responding very well to it..

Just thought i would share some info with you guys..

Congratulations on your marriage TTT and what a good story ! Tappy is 200 game player I reckon . I know he could play up the ground but I like the idea of the "Menacing" half back flanker !

Pretty good effort all round by your wife and LT/club with the framed and signed team photo. Congratulations !

He doesn't need to refer or single out the individuals when referring to getting "comfortable". Fair to say most D'landers have a fair idea when "a number of seasons" is mentioned.

Congratulations dude! Oh, and the wedding is a good thing too...

Seriously though, that is a really awesome bit of promotional work by LT and the club, and no doubt made a special day even better for you and your family.

Also really good to hear the take on the mature aged recruits. As H_T says, we really don't need him to name names. There has been plenty of speculation on these boards about certain players who seem to coast through the season and get picked anyway. That little comment may be the most significant insight into Neeld's plans for the team that we've had so far. Nobody is safe and everyone has to work hard to earn a spot in the side.

Please don't tell us about the honeymoon, especially if Tapscott is involved.

Congrats on the wedding and may you have lots of new Dees members.

Congrats, and thanks for the great insight into what's going on at the club.

I would imagine that with the recruits that have been brought in, there'll be a few players looking over their shoulders.

And yes WYL... He knocked the minister back 5 rows..

Congratulations and you must be loving your wife, you seem to have caught a biggie!!

Well done TTT in the wedding, I had the pleasure of meeting tappy In koh samui in October, as well as trenners n big maxy, absolute ripper blokes, I walked up and said g'day and that I was from Melbourne and the young fellas pretty much took me under the wing all introducing themselves (like I didn't know who they were) and then the beers and stupid dances followed!! Trenners is a bloody mature kid he didn't even look like mucking up while over there, don't know if I helped them with there preseason tho.... Tappy is in rehab and maxy is done for the year.... Even so had to be up there as one of the better nights of my life !!

Great story mate and the new Mrs sounds ace. Congratulations.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
