I think people forget just how good Daniel Bell could have been. He looked very promising early on, I am not sure if his decline is directly linked with his concussions or not, either way he could have been a very good footballer.

EDIT: Probably not a champion, but a lot better than he showed.

I think belly would have been better with less interchange rotations. The game had More space in the '90's, & that would have suited him.

Anyone remember Rodney McNabb? He was called up as a late replacement to play in a pre-season trial game against NM in the late 1960's / early 1970's. He bagged 6, and the article on page 3 of the 'Pink Paper' that Saturday evening was headed "Six Goals on Off-chance". I can remember it like it was yesterday .......... (what a pity I'm now struggling to remember the things that really did happen yesterday!).

ps. McNabb got another opportunity the next weekend, failed miserably, and never made the Melbourne list.

Good memory Biff - Kevin Dyson was going to be a beauty. I remember Kevin Sheedy doing a talk at school for us 'firsts' footballers must have been 1992. He talked for about 10 minutes about how he missed out on and was beaten to the signature of the bloke who had 'the best kick' in league footy, only mentioned his name once right at the end. My memory is a little murky but I reckon he'd only played 20 odd games back then and didn't really go on from there either just disappeared. Just another reason why Sheeds hates us....

Both Dean and Cook did ACLs. If you are applyling the no injury criteria.

Cook only did his ankle. Missed two months, came back into the VFL side having completely lost interest and retired in July. 3 games, 8 goals was a good start and he might have gone alright if he hadn't done himself in at the SCG but ultimately his demise saved Neita from a life in the backline.

Of course his legacy lived on as for the next few years the ads for Demon Health Insurance in the end of year magazine featured the picture of him being carried off.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.     The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm.
