Tweet from the Herald Sun website suggests Maric delisted. Any concrete evidence other than this and who else might be gone?

SammyHeraldSun Mark Blake retires, Addam Maric delisted by Dees & Brent Macaffer future still uncertain.

Cue simple plan music and razor blades. Isn't that right, demonblog? :P

He was a solid NAB cup player sadly. I wanted him to be something special because he can kick a ball, but it didn't happen. The club gave hm chances. He tried but the crumbs just didn't come to him. A top guy i am told. Good luck

Thought he didn't get enough of a run personally, got dropped after we lost a game yet he usually wasn't the worst on the ground... certainly did more than Morton did yet they kept giving Cale more chances.

See Newton.

7 years worth of chances. I guess the less you have to offer a side physically determines the amount of chances you get.

Must suck to be the little guy..

Cale has more height, and is a pick 4 - Maric is little, and was a second-rounder. Plus, we've seen Cale's best, and his best is very good. I can't think of one match where Maric was outstanding - in his first two years, Cale had plenty.

Dont I know it !

( I thought I would make my 1000th post worthwhile)

Maric Officially delisted:

Also gone are rookies Cam Johnston, Tom McNamara and Robbie Campbell has retired.

I thought there was a rule rookies has to stay on your list for two years? I guess that has

been phased out as Johnston and Campbell were only there for 12 months.

And the biggest non-news from these announcements? The Juice is still loose!

Maybe he's hanging around to get his MFC Life Membership for ten years of 'Outstanding Service'

Nah, he's waiting for Free Agency

aka Chris Johnson

Are you being sarcastic? That reason is a furphy.

Maric was not good enough....period.

Newton had more skills at AFL level than Maric. Newton just did not have the mindset and maturity to capitalise on it.

Newton had skills at AFL level? I thought he only got contracts because he was a big body surrounded by lambs.

I could see something in Maric I don't think it was a furphy- but at the same time I think he had enough chances. I couldn't really see much in Newton but I guess that is subjective.

Juice, JUICE, J-U-I-C-E, JOOOOOOCE!

There's got to be more announced - we still have to delist at least one more senior list player.

Good luck to Robbie Campbell its a shame he couldn't get up again.

Is there any chance he will stay at the club in a coaching role?

There were a few cameos at AFL and some performances at Sandy where Newton had the ability marking (not just contested) but also was a very effective kick for goal. But the problem was above the shoulders?

If we gave contract based on a big body then we would still have Paul Johnson here probably on a 5 year contract. Hmmmm!!!

Yeah but how many spuds can you have on your list at the one time, big bodied or not. I feel that Newton has been lucky. I think that Johnson had a little more spud about him.

There's got to be more announced - we still have to delist at least one more senior list player.

Not if we draft Cameron Bruce .....

I feel that Newton has been lucky. .

That sounds like a more plausible explanation than your previous one.

There's got to be more announced - we still have to delist at least one more senior list player.

Do we have to, or do we need to?

I thought we only had to make 3 list changes?

Merc = Change 1

Warnock = Change 2

Maric = Change 3

Hope Norf can uncover the rough diamond in Maric that a lot of other people see.

All I have ever seen is ordinary at best.

Juice still riding the wave of 2007 Mark of the year.

through comparative mathematical analysis I have extrapolated that Jurrah will remain on the list till 2132.

DONT TELL ME NEWTON HAS SURVIVED ANOTHER LIST CUTTING???!! "teflon" Newton is his new name. maybe hes got some dirt on a board member, lol

Do we have to, or do we need to?

I thought we only had to make 3 list changes?

My understanding is you need 3 picks in the national draft. You can use any of them on rookie upgrades and not make a 'live' selection, but even then with Clark effectively replacing Scully so far it's only Warnock and Maric out.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

    It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

    I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

    The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
