Simon Godfrey was a good tagger as well. If Bartram is as good as Clint Jones then sure keep him, but I doubt he is. Bail and McKenzie should be our two defensive orientated midfielders, Bartram is just depth.

Possibly...Let's wait till we get to september to feel the real pressure...You could be right, i just think Barty is under rated for what he does...

IF he wasn't there, we WOULD miss him.

Bartram is better than Godfrey.

Nev's not exactly slow is he?

Love this guy - reminds me a lot of Whelan at his best.

I reckon his kicking has definitely improved in the last year or so as well...

With a pre-season under his belt, he'll be just what we need, he chases his guts out. Like Davey used to.

He is slow, but he's also a good footballer.

He was playing well before he hurt his hand, and he had a game busting 5 minutes yesterday.

Has a determination about him that will see him continue to improve. As mentioned, how much he can improve will determine how long he's around.

A big preseason will help.

he will have a bit of an interupted start to the pre season, from what i hear he will be going under the knife after next week, and having his shoulder worked out, which has been troubling him this year.

hopefully he can have a big pre season, as i think he is definitely an important depth player to the team.

I also thought he was slow but on the club website his bio reads as follows:

The lively speedster struggled in his second season, battling to overcome a groin injury at the start of 2010 and found himself in the VFL later in the year. Missed the first eight games, played the next six but was confined to VFL duties after that. Has great pace and excellent skills through the middle of the ground

I think that it possibly indicates that he just doesn't have a big enough tank at the moment to maintain a high speed for much game time at all. Hopefully after a big preseason we will be able to see his said speed showcased.

Next week, hopeless, too soon. We should be doing the right thing by ALL Involved for the finals.

The Sooner they make the VFL start Earlier & Finish @ least 2 weeks before the AFL Grand final the better!

Theres our pre season comp right there, just needs tweeking!

Just a point on Nev's lack of speed, they guy he was running ahead of to gather the ball for his goal was Harbrow, who as we all know is really slow then he palmed him off and ran away from him.

Just one more point on coaching, Nev and Tapscott spent the game on Harbrow and pantsed him, he had no influence whatsoever, it is not the amount of touches you have if you are playing your role

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
