SUBJECT TO......

>> Meeting certain criteria pre season. A rolling short term contract with behavioral clauses. And a deal on the lower side $ wise but with performance incentive.

>> The KPI side including a non-negotiable forward pressure aspect. Although not sure you can put this in a contract lol. However, If he brings this pressure side as well as a decent bag over the year, i'd be happy subject to the above being built in.

The kids, as some refer to on here, as well as some of the seniors (McKenzie/Trengove/Jones/Moloney/Nicho etc) will also hopefully learn to deliver to and play with a real power forward.

Hopefully in readiness for our next long term one post fev (which could be a matter of weeks away lol)....and a premiership shortly thereafter :)

I just can't believe how many people are willing to vote yes!

Anyone out there wanna buy some magic beans?

I'll give you a sale price of $4K.

Gotta get in quick though...

Not you Fev, stop PMing me and get back to your Internet poker!

Nothin wrong with online Holdem play mate....as long as you have disciplined bankroll management, lots of experience and you avoid sites that allow bots on em. I win in the long haul playing Holdem online. Awesome game at that.

It's the horses/dogs/ and other casino games that kill ya B)

Absolutely NOT,when the ball turns over,he's too lazy to chase. If the ball drops short,he'll berate our young midfielders.

Would rather Jakovich as he is now

Is this seriously possible? Aged Care list maybe?

Two questions to you all:

1) Was anyone at the game on Sunday?

2) did anyone see our forward line?

If you answered yes to both questions then you would vote yes to Fev.

I did, i did.... and i did

Yeah! Touche'!

Guess who I'd rather have kicking the goals if it came to footy commitment.

I wasn't totally sure, but now it has been confirmed that at least 41% of Demonland posters need to seek immediate medical help.

I would have anticipated about 666%. At least 2/3 need their Demons exorcised.

If there wasn't a spot on the list for Junior this year then there sure as hell isn't one for Fevola next year.

Bailey and co are either gone or on their way out.

To kick a club champion out of the club is not right. Anyhow, hopefully we will have a new policy from now on.

When he kicks 10 in a game of VFL ( remember VFL) football, then tell him to come knocking.

When he lays a tackle outside 10 metres from his own goal, then we might take notice.

There are 3 other players ahead of him on the 2011 goalkickers table in the VFL. So what makes him special?

Answer: NO.

What could possibly go wrong?

AGREE....rhe worst thing that could happen is he gets the sack..

2 Coleman Medals, 2 All Australians and 7 time Carlton leading goal kicker

Absolutely not!

Having said that, he couldn't be any worse than some already on the list from a playing perspective.

What makes him special right now, not living on his past glories back when he was at Carlton..?

By that logic, maybe we should recruit Locket or Dunstall...

I have to confess I wanted us to recruit Cousins for his experience and I thought perhaps his legendary training ability might have rubbed off on the others. In hindsight it was neither a good or bad thing he went to Richmond he probably got a couple of 000 extra members because of the excitement but he didn't help them win too many games and was probably a bit past i when he got there.

Fevola is pretty much the same he is probably past it and he may have a few good games up his sleeve but in reality he would probably struggle, week in and week out, at this level. If you think about it it's been a few years since he left Carlton and in the meantime he's had a bit of a go at Brisbane a period of time off a period where he just about doubled his body weight and his skin folds are probably at bursting level even now.

We have, in the past, made players retire when they are in the state that Fevola is in now, so it would seem rather counter productive to recruit him.

errrrr no...fev is an inform ex afl great who still has the age, desire and fitness to compete once again at the top level

What about Aker?

He was good in that ledgends game.... ;)

Kicked 11 against Frankston a few weeks back..... and afterwards he was pretty gracious about it on Twitter....

"Thanks guys, great day out at Frankston, great win by the boys,"

Named in the best against Coburg on Sat in losing team. Kicked 7.

Surely you're not suggesting he'd be a better forward than Juice, Bate and Dunn?

Downside is he could have a year like Campbell and we delist him at the end of the year...

No Brainer, get him and lets have a real tilt in 2012.

Wow he kicked ten against Frankston.. who have won two games in two years. Maybe we should take Miller back because he wrecked Gold Coast last year?

Fevola (30 years old) - 623 goals in 204 AFL games - 2 Coleman Medals, 2 All Australians and 7 time Carlton leading goal kicker

Miller (28 years old) - 100 goals in 144 AFL games -

Doh! Yep lets take Miller!

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
