Who is trekking to Geelong?

I'm one of those who will be going down to Geelong. I haven't been down there in a few years and last time I went down was when Robbo turned on a show and we came back and won.

I'm thinking I won't see the same result.

I'm going and taking 4 others with me. Thinking of taking the train, which I have never done when I have gone in the past.

I'll be there. Going to go down on the train this time. Haven't done that before. Hope it's not too crowded coming home.

I hope it's loud and full of excited demons!

I'll be there with a mate for the day, hoping to at least see a win in the VFL curtain-raiser... can't see much hope in the main event!

Always goto Geelong each year, so yes I'll be there at sparrows to catch the curtain raiser (hopefully a win!) and then the main event (hopefully a modest loss)

......... all singing the 'Grand Old Flag' many times over.

Corporate box, corporate box y'all!

Happy to see the Pod not playing, as he has torn us apart recently, but I don't hold too much hope for a win at Skilled.

Looks like i'll be getting my drink on instead.

Yes, it promises to be a thrilling day

Making a living.

That said, got annual leave for next Saturday - first Saturday I've had off without being bedridden in 4 months!

I'll be there just like 30 years ago. Some of us oldies keep up to date with modern football. Will you be there Rhino, or just watching the telly in between making lengthy know-it-all posts?

Hope we thrash the blue baggers for you & us.

I'll be there! It can be a painful experience watching the dee's in Geelong but that's what beer is for.

We're going but we live here. We're going to the social club with a mate, should be interesting. I suppose the protocol is to shut up like we expect opposition supporters to do in the Redlegs.

Just departed Spencer St on the 11.40 Footy Special. Have not been down the Cattery for at least 15 years. Hopefully the boys put up an effort of consistent intensity and take the game on. Go Dees.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
