Thats what I thought at the same time last year.

Port dominated the first ten minutes of the quarter but we still got ahead. Doubt they'll get back from that.

That took thought. We're all pretty angry with him tonight, aren't we? And we only just found out he's been telling the truth all year...

I notice a few here are very quick to bag Scully when something goes wrong, but not a peep when he sets up a goal for the Gys.

The scrutiny is expected when you are being offered millions.

Bradley stretches it to 45. Dees 15-8-98 Port 8-5-53.

'Petterd going for the free...' just because your commentary box is cool and dry, Luke, doesn't mean the ground is.

Is it his fault he is being offered money?... regardless, he is a player who has played less than 30 games and he deserves credit when he does good things... just like any other player.

Dear Matthew Primus,

Colin Sylvia is one of our best users of the footy and if you don't limit his space, he will kill you..

Goal to Gray. If jayceebee reads this, he's in my team. Good stuff. Dees 15-8-98 Port 9-5-59.

Exactly. How often to Judd and ablett have games this mediocre? Not often, maybe never. That's who he is to be compared with now.

Frawley is epic tonight.

Morton embarrassing.

Maric promising.

Childish,hmmm well.If you say so.

For what the MFC would have paid Scully if he had stayed,I would be seriously unhappy with his output tonight.

Ricky Bobby kicks his third. Dees 16-8-104 Port 9-5-59.

Isn't Tappy bloody good at adjusting his sight, looking closer if there isn't a distant target, and DRILLING it.

Goal to Petterd. Nice pass from Maric. End to end from Melbourne, no PA player within 5m of the ball throughout.

I can acknowledge that the money being offered is inflated and based on potential, but Scully will be faced with a lot of scrutiny next year should be go to GWS irrespective of his experience. There is no denying his talent though, and he has done some nice things tonight too.

Good mark - not great - to Chad Cornes. Kicks a goal. Dees 16-8-104 Port 10-5-65

Yes I do say so... and all is explained by the fact you talk about him in past tense. Those grapes must be very sour.

He is doing some very good things for a sub 30 game player. He is an extremely quick learner and will only get better as he gets more experience.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
