OK - enough with the hints - what's your story? Why the hospitalisation? More points if you can weave in something related to footy.

Hahaha sadly nothing footy related, but Tom and I do share a common knee injury.

I had a bit of my tendon cut out today and sent to a lab in WA to get cells harvested for this new trial in tendon treatment.

Apparently I am one of only a handful of 'commoners' to have this done, but a few footballers have done it and are now back playing footy. However, I have been given plenty of pain killers (on top of the 12 vials of blood they took), so I'm a bit out of it right now. But being bed bound (for like the 10th time in 2 years), means I have nothing better to do than read Twits and post on Demonland.

IN: Tapscott, Maric. OUT: Bennell, Blease.

Looks like no-one tipped this combination at all. Did anyone pick Maric to return?? What's the Aussie equivalent of Monday morning quarterbacks?

Not trying to be a smart arse, just adding to the thread - I wasn't even game enough to nominate changes.

So whatta we call ourselves as on-line 'experts'? Gotta be some good terms out there.

Interesting. Hope it goes well, and they mix up your sample in the lab with a tendon from a western grey kangaroo...

Anyway, you might want to describe your blood sample containers as 'vials'. Only Pies supporters have their blood captured in 'viles', and then it's silver lined and laced with a clove of garlic.

Hahaha I kept looking at that word thinking that's definitely not right. I'm gonna blame the drugs again. Am definitely not a Collingwood support!!!

I think reading the Tom Scully thread for the 197th time has just about pushed me over the edge.

Blease better be out because of injury. That sounds somewhat sadistic but I'd be disappointed if we dropped him after one game, where I thought he actually did OK.

I'd be absolutely livid if Bate replaces him.

He had 8 disposals in the 3rd but Gotch said he really struggled in the wet and slippery conditions and just didn't suit his game. So I'm guessing with the slippery conditions up there it may have been tactical. I look forward to seeing him get another run some time soon though!

I've never really thought of Jaded as a 'vial' sort. Just the usual 'sort'. LoL.

Blease has not been in really great form all year. Just fair form I would have called it. I really didn't think he was going that great to get the game in the first place. Just going in spurts, getting better, but still short of where I thought he'd want to be.

He'll get there, but just not yet. He's got to round off his game a lot more yet. Way too one dimensional... A lot to learn, how patient is he?

Agreed.

Especially after playing as a sub.

I must say I was disappointed for young Blease. Getting dropped after playing less than half a game and doing some good things seems rather ruthless. Surely, he could have been given one full game to display his obvious talents. Hopefully, he will have another go soon.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
