How do you come to that conclusion wyl?

Seems to me we have one of the better ones.

Not saying it is necessarily the easiest but looks fairly good to me.

The Mileage we cover must be factored in stronger than what it is....it is not the only factor, but travel fatigue does occur

Then how come WCE seem to have very little problem last year.

How come Brisbane won 3 in a row.

How come Sydney played in 2 GF's in a row and won 1 and lost the other by less than a goal to the WCE.

It seems to me that good sides win and poor sides don't.

There may be a small amount of problem but it seems to me it is a handy excuse.

Oh we had to go all the way to Perth last week and we were so tired this week.

We had better get a grasp of the problem if it is that big or we will be wandering in the wilderness forever.

you are not factoring in all the "Juice" those teams used....do you remember all the syringes that were in the Brisbane rooms when Lethal was there?

Twice any other team....Travel is a factor, not saying we don't have to master it.

Not sure if I mentioned Noble Game at 3.20 today, sunday, at Sale. Should go close to winning.

Man of Awe at 1.35 Tuesday at Stawell. First start.

Maybe Noble Game doesn't like wet feet Redleg, good luck on tuesday.

Mate I think we are having the same discussion we have had before.

I am sure we are just discussing degrees.

I think we are going to agree to disagree on this one.

Unless he is injured, it was a pathetic run. Hopefully tuesday will be better.

Has anyone noticed the huge amount of new topics started daily. It seems like every thought gets its own topic.

By golly you're right.

I think I might start a thread on that very subject.

Just saw the GWS calendar setup on the news and Sheeds had Ward and Davis beside him. Captain and Vice Captain or Co Captains?

I think that is a fairly short bet RL

Davis was considered not long after news of going to GWS/leaving Adelaide as captain material.

Both Davis and Ward are fine young, honest men and would be capable of leading the new club.

That may well be so Redleg, but the D'Land ministry of Cultural Enlightenment and Propaganda has decreed that anything and anyone associated with GW$ must be mercilessly castigated, vilified and denounced at every possible opportunity. Your Forum expects every Poster to do his duty. Remember, loose lips sink ships.

If you read between the lines in the line I posted, I think I have complied.

I have made a note to use Li-Ion batteries in my sarcasm meter. That should fix things

As you were,

GWS intraclub game tonight at Moore Park in Sydney @ 6.30pm.

I hope the condition of the ground's improved since I last was there. In the late 80s I would not have played the under 16s there!

One of those Under 16's picked up Voldemort last night and even tackled him one or two times.

Things are going well out there at Bleaktown.

Black Caviar, what can you say? Possibly the best this country has produced. Untouched and runs them off their feet. I feel privileged to have seen her run. Wow. I just feel so excited and it gives me hope of getting another good horse one day, one that I can think about all day, in between thinking about my grand daughter and the MFC.

And now for something completely different !

Mark Twain visited our shores ( as well as India , New Zealand etc ) around the end of the 19th century and wrote a book about it .

I am reading Wild Horses, a book by Dick Francis, with as usual, his use of the horse racing world as an ingredient.

I can see us resting a few players in the opening NAB cup and playing all of the rookies that are fit.

i was wondering about this, will we go about the NAB sup the usual way by playing the younger brigade and experimenting or will it be used as valuable experience in learning the new game plan/structures etc. It feels odd to say this about the pre season comp but i think i would be dissappointed if we didnt play our best available side even with the risk of injuries or whatever

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
