All this winning has forced the real issues to the back pages.

I am seriously thinking of giving up my AFL membership at the end of this season. It was a membership to watch football not a political game of pander to the highest bidder and interest group.

As soon as it became a game sponsored by hundreds of $millions Redleg it was invertible IMO.

Between the crappy look of the game, the politics and our poor performance of the MFC I have lost a lot of interest.

I go to MFC games watch a few on TV and that is it. The days of going to other games and watching a game not involving a the MFC are gone for me.

If the MFC fell over tomorrow I would have nothing to do with AFL at the top level.

Amos would then be my Footy fix.

Top level Football is now a business who's major focus is on making money.

the fans run a bad second to that.

My god you stay away from Demonland for 24 hours and there are a dozen new threads.

we win one game and it is like we won the GF

I cannot imagine what will happen if we happen to win again on Saturday

Not that far back in the paper to hide this interesting yarn:

http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/irishman-pleads-guilty-to-causing-500000-flood-damage-to-hotel-20140506-zr5od.html

It's about a bloke nicknamed "Gaff" - but by transposing a few letters we can uncover the real story which is about "Biff" and the "Gat".

A drunk Gaffney woke up just after midnight and walked out into the hallway and urinated.

Wearing just a pair of underpants, Gaffney took the emergency exit stairs down to the eighth floor and turned on the fire hydrant valve, causing a large amount of water to start gushing out. Every floor below the eighth floor was soon flooded and guests had to be evacuated.

Wet and naked, Gaffney then walked up to the 10th floor and woke up a guest in apartment 1001 who gave him a pair of underpants to put on.

noticed the names changed in this story to protect demnoland identities.

interesting that biff gaff walked back up to the 10th floor and didnt stagger up?

also not written was the fact the guest in room 1001 was a naked 53 yo woman who only had frilly knickers to loan.

only biffo (er gaffney) would borrow his y-fronts

RaB told redleg that BBO doesnt wear undies.

so that must be fact.

that's a very good point jazza

so who was the other male in bbo's room on the 10th floor?

surely not stuie......then again.....

I've had more smears than a Gynocologist on this thread.

I would never urinate in a hall.

There is a perfectly good vanity basin in my room.

If I were you I would consider legal action.

It is a dam disgrace the way some on Demonland carry on.

Now seriously folks.

Do any of you really know what the Gat really looks like?

Surely, those who have passed by these wonderful premises would know that nowadays it doesn't have a 10th floor?

The photograph of the entrance tells it all anyway - a wonderful example of post imperial splendor - a place where business executives can take their third wives on an exciting dream honeymoon.

BTW. Fl ogs resurrection has quite unhinged me but has Demonland changed its format? On the home page , I am getting huge pics of the poster's avatar. Mine is rather charming but the others would scare off potential members.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
